GEZELIG, SOBREMESA and NAZ All ADOPTED These sweet pups were picked up by Animal Control running loose together. We don't know if they were dumped or strayed but they were all a bit bedraggled, covered in fleas and had a little hair loss. Obviously they have been treated for the fleas and with some good nutrition, a bath and they will be looking great! Life will be good now as we find them loving new families! They are all friendly and love to be held.

LINLEY - ADOPTED is a darling little girl that gets along with dogs of all sizes - including the big ones in her foster home! Her foster mom says she is a perfect lap dog, not a bit shy, loves to be with her people. She is good on a leash and crate and house trained. She settles nicely at night in her crate with not a peep until the morning. Not a barker!

LIBBY - ADOPTED is our latest 'black beauty'! The shelter is always full of these amazing dogs! She is as sweet as pie and loves everyone! Shiny, soft coat just right for petting! Unfortunately her owner didn't appreciate what a gem she is and surrendered her to Animal Control saying she didn't have time for her. We will find her a wonderful new family that will appreciate her and include her on fun activities!
Libby is around a year old and weighs 48 lbs.

MARLEE, MUFFEE & MACEE - ALL ADOPTED are 3 little female pups that were picked up by Animal Control after they were dumped in a rural area and left to fend for themselves. They are a little on the shy side but our foster homes have been socializing them and they are learning that life is going to be good! We will be looking for families that understand the responsibility of bringing a puppy into the family and have patience and time to work on training.
These puppies require continued socialization. They are sweet and learning that life in a family can be good. A training class will be important to help build their confidence.
The puppies are around 14 weeks old and weigh 10 + lbs. We have no information on the parents of course, but think they probably will be medium size when fully grown.
They have received age appropriate vaccinations,(will need more) been dewormed, microchipped, and spayed. We are asking for an adoption donation of $380 to help with the costs of caring for our rescue pets.

FEENY - male

BITSY, FEENY & MINTY all ADOPTED were surrendered to our rescue when their owner had too any animals to properly care for. They also surrendered a pregnant dog which another rescue was able to take. They are all sweet and friendly and were obviously loved. But they received no regular vetting and we all know how a couple of dogs soon ends up being a lot more when they are not spayed or neutered. We are glad we could help and that the owner wanted a better life for them.
Bitsy weighs 17 lbs. We never know how old a dog is, it's always a guess but her owner indicated she was around 4. Our vet thinks a little older as her teeth needed cleaning and some were loose. When we asked the owner she said she only ate wet food so maybe that accounts for it, we don't know. Because of the dental and a hernia repair she needed, we will go with a senior adoption donation of $250.
FEENY weighs 12 lbs and we think he is around 18 m old.
MINTY weighs 14 lbs and we think she is around 18 m old too.
They have been vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, heart worm tested and spayed/neutered.

LITTLE LINCOLN ADOPTED came to the shelter as a cruelty case and was a horribly matted mess. We had to shave him down and we know that made him feel so much better. He is settled into his foster home now and being spoiled. He would do well in a quieter environment, where he can relax and be with his people. He just wants to be loved and live the good life. A patient owner with no small kids would be good for him while he learns that life is going to be good now.
Lincoln weighs 10 lbs and is around 8 years old and qualifies for our senior adoption donation of $250.

LEGO ADOPTED just wants to be loved!! What a snuggler! He LOVES kids as you can see! A beautiful shiny coat and look at that corkscrew tail - how cute! Especially when it wags!
His foster mom tells us: He is a total love bug, knows sit, down, doing well in house, sleeps great in crate, loves to play and absolutely adores kids. We are happy to love on him until a family that will love him as much as we do comes along.
Lego is young and is playful - a fenced in yard or an owner committed to exercising him would suit him best. He is not crazy hyper just a young boy that needs to run and play! He certainly has such a sunny personality and a joy for life. He's going to make a great addition to a family that is looking for a friend to take with them on outings, to the park, kids' baseball games. He is also an amazing snuggler and loves to be with his people!

JOIE: ADOPTED This sweet and friendly young lady will certainly bring joy to the lucky family that gets to take her home! She is adorable with those little wrinkles on her face! Her foster mom tells she is a total sweet heart. When we first started to foster her she was a wild pup, after a few days of working with her she now knows "sit" and "down" very well. And "leave it" perfectly. I was curious of how well she may sleep without a crate and found out last night that she is great. No accidents, no chewing, no waking up in the middle of the night. She does great having 4 foster siblings and doesnt pay attention to the cat.
Joie is one smart puppy - it will be fun to teach her more things.
The shelter named her Lucky. But after 2 months stuck in a cage and with so many dogs coming into the shelter - they were out of space and her time was up.
Joie is around 30 lbs and 8 months.

LLEW, VERITY, AND AMITY all ADOPTED 3 adorable puppies that are looking for new families! They are very friendly. They loved to snuggle and be held, playful with their toys and sleep nicely through the night! Potty training is going well too!
They are certainly not shy - very confident puppies that like to follow their people around. They love to play and chase each other! They jump like little beans!

Llew is the white boy, 6 lbs, Amity is the scruffy girl, 5 lbs and Verity is the blue girl, 5lbs. They are around 12 weeks old and have received age appropriate vaccinations, (will need more) been dewormed, microchipped, and spayed/neutered.

POSH - ADOPTED - What a happy girl! There are always so many black dogs in need when we visit the shelter. POSH is our latest recruit! She is just too adorable, very friendly with a tail that just never stops wagging. The word stranger is certainly not in her vocabulary! She has a beautiful soft coat and loves to be pet! Check out those cute white toes! Posh was picked up by Animal Control and we are beginning to wonder if someone is dumping these black dogs - they certainly are all around the same age and look like they could be related.
Posh will make a great family dog - she would be happy to join in with everyday activities, walks or snuggling - she is eager to please!

JENICA - ADOPTED! is just gorgeous! She immediately caught our eye when we were visiting the shelter. Such a pretty girl with a shiny chocolate colored coat! She is young, sweet playful and probably has had some training. She certainly sat pretty quick and gave us her paw when she saw the treat bag!
Unfortunately Jenica strayed from home. We don't understand why her owner didn't come to look for her. So she's now looking for a new home that will keep better tabs on her.
We think Jenica is around 18 months old and she weighs 49 lbs.

ELF: ADOPTED This little fella is just adorable! He's a confident guy, happy, sweet, friendly and oh so loving. He loves to go for walks and prances around to meet anyone that will stop and show him attention! He's social and silly and fun and loves his canine friends too. We can imagine his new family will make lots of new friends as everyone will want to stop and say hi to him!
Elf is a young adult, we think around 4 years and weighs 15 lbs.

HILDY: ADOPTED Got toys? Hildy is a toy 'hoarder' and brings them back to her bed! Look at the cute little wrinkly ears too! Like Kettle Chips! Her foster mom tells us: Hildy is the funniest little girl once she gets over her initial shyness. She is shy to new people, but warms up quickly to women. Loves to go for walks and runs. Likes playing with her many hoarded toys that she steals from all the animals and collects in her doggie bed. Loves to snuggle with her person and is very sweet and funny. Just don't leave any clothing hanging on a door knob or chair she tends to hoard clothing as well! Gets along great with other dogs and cats Oh and 100% house broken all business done outside.
A quieter home without kids would suit Hildy best.

OLLIE ADOPTED is a dear little pup that found herself in the scary shelter. She was understandably confused and presented as a tad shy when we took her out to the yard. She's sweet and friendly, was happy to get cuddles from our volunteers and we know she will be much happier when she gets back into a home situation.
Ollie was surrendered to Animal Control as her owner was moving. Ollie is around a year old and weighs in the region of 15 lbs.

PIXIE: ADOPTED Her foster family tell us that Pixie is the BEST foster ever! She is totally house trained, quiet, and can be left home alone without getting into stuff! Ignores the garbage can even! She also does fine in her crate, knows sit and takes treats nicely! She pays no attention to the cats! Pixie loves to play ball, in fact enjoys all her toys, but is ready to relax and snuggle with you in front of the TV - she is a champion snorer! Pixie loves to go on walks and is good on the leash. On a recent adventure she sniffed out some Truffles! How awesome!
Pixie is just precious and that is why she got to come with us! Her smooshy face reminds us of a Boston Terrier though on the larger side!
Pixie can be selective with her doggie friends so introductions are important - though she loves to play at the dog park!

DESIREE - ADOPTED is a darling girl that was picked up as a stray. She was hiding at the back of her kennel scared with all the barking going on around her -- she relaxed when we took her out to the play yard and loved getting attention from the volunteers.
Desiree is doing great now she is in a foster home! Cute as a button! She's well behaved and a great house guest. Her foster mom tells us " DESIREE is great; loving and loyal. But she is also a typical 'terrier' and will need a patient owner familiar with the breed." She's friendly and sweet and good with the dogs and kids in her foster home but does need time to settle in and adjust around new people. She is not a fan of the mailman of course!
Desiree is an adult and weighs 11 lbs.

BROWNIE - ADOPTED - She is so sweet - meek and friendly. Foster mom tells us: Brownie is a sweetheart! She loves to snuggle, give kisses and receive belly rubs. She adores other dogs and kids. Knows sit and is doing well in house. She loves to crawl in your lap!! Unfortunately Brownie has a very sad story - She was dumped in a parking lot in Atlanta and brought to the pound. It was found she had a broken hind leg. She sat in a cage for 3 months and with crate rest, the leg healed. You can't tell it was ever broken. When we found out she was still waiting to get out of there, we invited her to join our rescue.

ELDORADO! ADOPTED He has lovely house manners according to his foster mom and he's incredibly sweet and friendly. He's good with other dogs - in fact he was in foster with Konnee and they shared a crate and snuggled together. He will make a great companion to take with you when you run errands as he walks nicely on a leash, greets people politely and likes to ride in the car too.
We think Eldorado is around 4 - 5 years old and he is on the small side weighing just 15 lbs.

REESES - ADOPTED is just adorable! She really is the sweetest. She came to the shelter after recently having puppies. We don't know where they are or what happened to them unfortunately. But now it's time for Reeses to find a family that will love and spoil her and she can be someone's baby. Her foster mom says she is doing great - sweet and friendly. Seriously how can you not want to make this pup yours forever. Fun loving, well behaved, House broken and loves to snuggle with you to keep you warm during the cold nights. Is chill inside and runs about outside , will play catch if she's in the mood for it. Gets along great with other dogs and people.

BUBBLES & SQUEAK! ADOPTED Two cute little pups that found themselves turned into the shelter when their owner let their dogs breed and they had too many pets to properly care for. They are darling pups, very sweet and affectionate and have very pretty/handsome coloring. They are doing great and have settled in nicely in their separate foster homes.
Bubbles (female) is the more outgoing of the two, Squeak (male) is happy to follow her lead and can be more reserved. It would be good for him to have a doggie companion in his new home.
Bubbles & Squeak are older puppies, under a year and weigh in the region of 20 lbs.

Diji -

TAXI and DIJI ADOPTED are two very adorable girls! Unfortunately they went on an adventure together and ended up at the pound. No owner came to claim them and so we invited them to join our rescue. We assume they are related but they were separated at the shelter and are not a bonded pair.
They are super sweet, snuggly and friendly and are ready to find their new families. They could both do with a trip to the beauty parlor and their new owners will need to keep them up to date with regular grooming sessions!
Taxi and Diji are around a year old and weigh in the region of 25 lbs.

RAGGABRASH! ADOPTED is a very silly little girl! She’s just about the happiest dog in the world- once you give her the chance to love you. She was so terrified at the animal control, we nearly didn’t take her, but in a home, she’s AMAZING. Want someone who burrows under blankets and snuggles the night away? She’s your girl! Absolutely love her! Her foster mom tells us: This little girl is full of fun and though she may be timid when trying new things, she warms up and has joyful enthusiasm! She is being fostered with dogs and cats and does well with them all! We would prefer a house without little kids please.

BOO ADOPTED! Are you dreaming of a best friend? Someone who will give their heart to you completely? Someone who is ALWAYS happy to see you and spend time with you? I could be the best friend of your dreams!
I am blind, so I cannot see with my eyes open. But when I close them, I have dreams, too! I am dreaming of a home of my own where I can snuggle with someone on the couch. That’s really my biggest dream of all.
A doggie buddy would also be great for me. I get along great with other dogs and I love to run around the yard and challenge them to a game of zoomies. I’m good with older children, too. (I’ve tried making friends with cats, but so far I haven’t figured out how to be friends with kitties.)

Meet JOSEY! ADOPTED She stole our hearts when we met her at the shelter. We took her outside and she crawled into a volunteer's lap! That sealed the deal, of course!! Josey says "Who's old? Not me!" This girl is sweet and happy, loves to snuggle. Has a healthy appetite and loves peanut butter for a snack. Will putter around with you while you do your gardening romps around the yard. Not to mention she has the cutest face ever. Her foster mom tells us that she is the best lap dog ever! She gets on great with the other dogs in her foster home -- loves to snuggle with them too.

BOOLONI - ADOPTED is such a sweet mushball.This guy is such a sweetheart. Booloni- silly name for a baby boy with a silly soul 💜 He loves attention and snuggles and his butt will always wiggle when he sees you. He spent time at doggie daycare and loved playing with all his friends. He is so handsome with his brindle and white coat. Doing well in his foster home and loves the kids.

TANNER: ADOPTED He stole the hearts of the volunteers at the shelter. They were worried about him as he was so skinny and not eating much. Of course we had to rescue him. He is so sweet and friendly - good with everyone, people and dogs. He is on the submissive side, not jumpy and loves to be loved on. He is looking for a family that will spoil him, provide good nutrition so he can put on a few pounds, and, of course, love him and show him that life can be good!

FOZZIE ADOPTED is a typical happy-go-lucky lab mix that LOVES everyone! His good looks and sweet personality will surely win you over. He loves attention and will put his paws in your lap and rest is head against you. He is young and playful. Maybe a little much for a smaller dog. He loves his toys and a good game of fetch. He knows sit and is house and crate trained. He is ready to join a family that will take him on outings, maybe there will be some kids to throw the ball for him, and spoil him with lots of love (and toys)! He really just wants to have fun!

BUTTERFINGER: ADOPTED This pretty girl with her gorgeous coloring, is beautiful on the inside as well as the outside!
Such a sweet and loving girl She has a sad expression with those puppy dog eyes - you just want to reassure her that is all going to be ok. She is playful with her doggie friends, affectionate with people. Just a great all around family dog.
Her foster mom tells us: She is the sweetest! Gets along with dogs, kids and horses! And she smiles!😊
Butterfinger came in as a stray to the shelter but no one came to reclaim her so we invited her to join our rescue.

SHARPIE- ADOPTED is our latest black dog recruit -- There are just so many hoping for a second chance when we go to Animal Control.
His foster mom tells us - "Don't delay - Sharpie is just wonderful! Fur as soft as silk, loves to be pet, good house guest, house and crate trained! Rides well in the car, sweet, friendly and would love to join a family that will spoil him!"
Sharpie's previous owners surrendered him to the shelter as they couldn't afford to take care of him.
Sharpie is around a year old and weighs approx 35 - 40 lbs.

ANDES - ADOPTED! This totally adorable boy is filled to the brim with personality A 100% love bug! Happy-go-lucky, he wants nothing more than a family to love and entertain. He's friendly and cute and doing so well in his foster home - his mom just loves him! ANDES came into the shelter not being able to use one of his back legs. Not sure if he had a run in with a car, or what but unfortunately the leg could not be repaired, it was too badly broken. It had to be amputated. Does ANDES even know he is missing a leg? Doubt it. It certainly doesn't affect him at all. Actually it makes him even more adorable and CUTE! And he runs like the wind - it doesn't slow him down at all! ANDES also had a condition called cherry eye which our vet took care of.
Andes is around a year old and weighs just 10 lbs.

This 'perfect' girl is FAYE - ADOPTED. That's what her foster family tells us - sweet and 'perfect'. Friendly and affectionate too. And you have to meet her to appreciate what a beauty she is. Her coat is soft and shiny and though mostly black, she has brown highlights and a dash of white on those toes.
She loves to play with her toys and will collect them in her bed. She has a good appetite, loves her treats, rides nicely in the car and is a good all around house guest. Faye's foster mom tells us that she is shy around toddlers so older children would be best.

KONNEE ADOPTED is a tiny little girl that was shivering and shaking at the shelter. Luckily a foster home opened up and we were able to get her out of there. She's been doing great now she is in a home setting, is best friends with Eldorado who was also at the same foster. We know she would do great with another friendly dog to snuggle with too! She's sweet and friendly, well mannered and just so pretty with her shiny black coat.
She is ready to find a lap to sit on!

HERMAN ADOPTED is a big goof of a pup! If you are looking to add some joy to your life, Herman is your guy! He is such a happy boy, loves everyone and everything. He is so handsome, lovely soft coat that is just right for snuggling! He is as sweet as pie and thinks he is a lap dog. He has no idea how big he is!

WERTHER! ADOPTED Yes he really is as sweet as the candy he is named after! He was available to rescues only at Animal Control as he was so scared that he was not making a good impression. We knew once he was out of that scary place, he would be fine. He does present as reserved. He's not going to come up and lick your face. He prefers to make the first move in a relationship; a definite turn off for him is coming on too strong. Once he gets to know you, he wants to be in your lap, cuddling! He’s a boy who really wants to bond with people and also enjoys the company of other pets. Take the time to get to know him - he's a gorgeous sweetie!
We are listing Werther as a 'young senior'. We don't have an age for him and he's certainly not telling. We are asking for a senior adoption donation of $250.

BRANDY BUTTER ADOPTED is a sweet little girl that is a tad shy initially but shows off her happy personality in no time! Brandy was adopted from the shelter as a young puppy! We are sure she was just the cutest little girl! Unfortunately her owner decided she no longer has time to care for Brandy and back to Animal Control she went. That was a bit scary for her with all the dogs barking but we got her out of there and now she's doing great in her foster home. They tell us: Brandy Butter is a really special puppy. So very smart and just a really, really good dog! She is eating well, no accidents, only plays with her toys, OK in the kennel for an extended period of time, plays very well with our two dogs - 5 stars! She tries to play with the cat, but the cat doesn't want to play and Brandy respects those boundaries.

NENA - ADOPTED is one of the sweetest girls you could ever hope to meet. She stole the hearts of the staff and volunteers during her stay at Animal Control. Unfortunately she didn't find her new family there and so we invited her to be a PPR girl!

OPAL - ADOPTED She looks to sad - it's almost as if she knew the chances of her making it out alive of the shelter were slim. She was next on the euthanasia list. We couldn't let her life end there -- the volunteers all loved her. They spent time loving on her and she responded with sweet little kisses. She is super sweet and friendly, good with other dogs too. Her foster mom tells us: She is a great house guest! Does well with the young children, respectful of the resident dog and cats. Very smart too! She is waiting for a family to chose her and show her the good life. They will be rewarded with a loving companion that will be forever grateful to be included in family activities.

BALKO - ADOPTED - This adorable little one is so sweet but understandably a little on the shy side when he first meets you. It's not long before he is giving you sweet little kisses though! SAM - ADOPTED is the perfect little gentleman says his foster mom! With his handsome black and white coloring, it almost looks like he is wearing a tuxedo too! He has been an absolute joy for his foster family and has gotten along with all dogs big and small, likes children and most of all loves to sit on your lap and just snuggle! He has a cute little nubby tail and shortie little legs! Just too adorable! Sam would make a great companion dog and would love to accompany you wherever you go too! FLAPJACK: ADOPTED We don't know what went into his creation but boy did it produce a cutie! His coloring is just so unique and everyone will be asking you "What kind of dog is he"? FlapJack is just a happy go lucky, tail wagging boy that now has a bright future. Everyone that meets him says he is such a silly, goofy guy - very sweet and affectionate. He is on the chunky/stocky side but he does have some growing to do. Flapjack will need a family that will commit to training - a quick obedience class would be great as he is full of puppy enthusiasm and no one has ever spent time teaching him all the things a puppy needs to know.

Meet TIA! ADOPTED She was found wandering the streets together with Tamera and despite her microchip she was not able to be reunited with her owner. She is playful but not crazy and listens to commands. She loves her toys and hasn't tried to chew anything that isn't hers. She will sit in your lap and snuggle when it's time to chill!

BRONNTANAS ADOPTED is so cute with those 'too big for her' ears! She is a loyal girl that loves to be with her people and snuggle BUT she presents as shy when you first meet her and will need a patient owner to give her time to adjust. Then you will be rewarded with the sweet girl that her foster family sees! She loves her crate and can often be found curled up in there. She loves to nap and sunbathing is her favorite. She will find that sunny spot by a window and be very content watching what is going on outside! She also loves to toss a toy around and chase after it. She’s house and crate trained.

She was found as a lost doggie with her friend Oliver Twist - We don't know if they were from the same home or if they just wound up traveling together when they were wandering.

MOO! ADOPTED Darling girl that was a volunteer favorite at the shelter! And once you meet her you will see why! Just a perfect young lady that loves her human and canine friends. She is so pretty with her black and white coloring and weighing only 18 lbs, she's the perfect size too! Not too small and not too big! She is very sweet and well mannered.
She is a lap dog and will snuggle the night away while you catch up on your favorite tv shows!

This cutie is TAMALE! Such an adorable little nugget! He is sweet and friendly and full of charm! His little tail goes non-stop! He's a happy boy! Tamale was brought to the shelter by a couple that said he was hanging around their business for a while. They fed him and kept him safe while they looked for his owner but no one seemed to know where he belonged so they brought him to the shelter. They said he was good boy and did well with everyone he met both human and canine.

FRANCES - ADOPTED - Your heart just melts when you meet this big, goofy puppy. She loves everyone and everything and is beyond friendly! She is so pretty with her wavy coat and those puppy eyes just make you fall in love! Frances knows how to sit and give paw. We need to know her new family has plans in place for a training class so she learns to be a good doggie citizen. Frances has big paws and is still growing so she could be on the large side when fully grown.

JEROME - ADOPTED had been shut up in a kennel at Animal Control for several weeks as he was not available for adoption - only to a rescue group. He was surrendered to the shelter as the family had small children and Jerome had nipped at the baby. Well you can see the state this dog is in - matted fur hanging over his face - he probably wasn't feeling his best and didn't want kids to pull at him. He's now in a foster home and doing great. Once we can get him groomed, we will post updated pics. Of course we will want him to go to a new home without young kids.

SASHIMI - ADOPTED is one of the sweetest little girls we have had the pleasure to meet (and rescue)! Seriously she has those puppy dog eyes that just make you fall in love! And when she nuzzles into you and wants to be pet, you are pretty much hooked!
Sashimi is on the shy and submissive side. She's looking for a family that can spend time with her and help her gain confidence. Another social dog in the family would be good for her and a puppy training class would be a good idea. She was so shy at the shelter that she just wouldn't walk, just belly crawled into our volunteer's lap! Her foster mom has been working with her but she still presents as a tad shy in new situations.
Sashimi is around 6 months old and weighs 25 lbs. She has some more growing to do, of course, but we think she will probably stay on the medium side.

SHERBET - ADOPTED is a silly, social and super sweet girl! She's mostly white with a black eye patch and some speckles. Sherbet will do well in a home with another high energy dog who doesn't mind the fact that she likes to play a bit rough. She needs a home that will provide her with structure, rules, boundaries and be good leaders. We recommend older kids as we have no history of her being with kids and have not had her around young kids.
Her foster mom tells us: Sherbet is a sweet, lovable pup. She likes to snuggle and give you big kisses. She’s content to hang with you on the couch, but also has a lot of puppy energy, so would do well with an active family or one with a fenced in yard to get the exercise she needs. She is housebroken.
She is fully trained in off leash obedience and her new owner will receive free handling lessons from Allied Dog Training.

She rides well in the car and will make a lovely companion to some lucky family. Lexi spent weeks at the shelter being over looked - just another little Georgia brown dog in an over crowded shelter.

Despite appearances, this girl is no dust mop! Jazmyn resembles a Tibetan Spaniel and has the happy-go-lucky energy and joy of a dog who loves everyone! She enjoys walks, meeting new people and getting belly rubs

FLEA! ADOPTED Darling little girl that is looking for a lap to sit on! She was found as a lost dog and ended up at the scary dog pound! She’s just as cute as they come! This little scruffy girl is great on leash and loves to snuggle next to you after a nice walk. She lives with other dogs and cats. The cats she would like to chase (it’s a dog thing), but they just won’t run. She has not been aggressive with them. They just bewilder her. Flea enjoys tasty treats and being with her people most of all. Soulful eyes, sweet, curly tail- she’s going to be someone’s best friend!

He is such a sweetie! He walks nicely on a leash and loves car rides. Tommy Boy was picked up running loose and brought to the pound in Atlanta. No owner came to find him and so we offered him a place in our rescue.

KORA - ADOPTED is a pretty girl! Her half-tail makes her even more adorable! She is the total package friendly, playful, happy and fun loving - a part-time comedian looking for a full-time forever home! What a treat to wake up to this darling girl every day! She gives the best kisses and loves to snuggle. She loves to ride in the car too!
Foster family tells us that she loves to accompany them on outings, walks nicely on the leash and loves to sniff all those exciting outdoor smells!

MARMITE! - ADOPTED What do you do when a volunteer sends you a photo of a sad dog that has just been dumped at the shelter as her owner was moving? Just curled up in a ball trying to process what was happening to her? This really tugged at our heart strings so now Marmite is safe in our rescue! She's a sweetie - Looks like a mini German Shepherd with shortie little legs. So sad in her kennel, but brightened up when we took her for a walk and was sweet and friendly.
Now she is in a foster home, we can see how sweet she really is! She knows several commands, including sit and shake paw - Probably knows more! House trained too. Who is ready to put the smile back on Marmite's face?

FANNIE:ADOPTED How ADORABLE is this sweetie!? Only a puppy and as cute as can be but this kid was facing euthanasia without rescue. The Animal Control was horribly overcrowded with so many black dogs all hoping for a chance. It's so sad!
Fannie is a sweet heart through and through. An expert kisser - she will cover you in sweet little kisses if you let her! If you don't like a 'kissy' dog, then Fannie is not the one for you! Like all puppies, she is playful and loves her toys. She is ready for a training class to learn all the things a good doggie citizen needs to know. She is a super smart cookie and eager to please, super friendly,loves to play with her doggie friend in her foster home and well socialized. She would make a great companion for another playful dog.

THOR! ADOPTED This handsome pup caught the eye of one of our volunteers at a very overcrowded shelter and it was instant love! She offered to foster him and so he was saved! And what a good save that was! She said he is perfect! An absolute joy and so much fun to have around. He loves his toys and plays a great game of fetch! Must be some retriever in there somewhere! He's good with other dogs, loves the kids in the family, ignores the cats and is quite laid back and submissive! House and crate trained too!

She is sweet and friendly, loves to play with her doggie friends - in fact would love a canine companion in her new home as she can be a tad on the shy side in new situations. She is also very content to just hang out and chill too!

RUGGERS - ADOPTED is just a little love! He's petite and darling! A sweetheart who thinks he belongs in your lap at all times. Ruggers was picked up as a stray wandering the streets all alone. Though it was a scary time for him having to go to Animal Control, at least he was safe, fed and not in danger of getting hit by a car. Ruggers is a hoot! Foster mom says he's sassy, good with her dogs and marches around collecting all the toys!

MAISOLI! - ADOPTED Of course when the volunteers at the shelter told us about this sweet girl, we had to say YES! She is friendly - A happy, smiley girl! Look at those shortie little legs! She certainly is a laid back, chill kinda girl. Happy to hang out with you, probably won't get into stuff like a puppy would and housetrained. Maisoli was picked up as a stray but no owner came to look for her. We couldn't let her life end alone at Animal Control. Someone is going to be lucky to have her join their family.
We don't know how old Maisoli is - and she certainly isn't telling us. Probably middle aged but we will ask for our senior adoption donation of $250.

RICO - ADOPTED- This little guy found himself taken to Animal Control when his owner no longer had time for him. His foster mom calls him 'Mr Perfect' - great with other dogs, house trained, quiet in his crate, and loves to snuggle with you and sleep under the covers! Also loves car rides, long walks, being with his people, sleeping and hanging out. Gentle and tail wagger. He’s just ADORABLE! He’s a tiny guy, not a very young man, but young at heart and full of love! He is absolutely charming!
Yes sounds like a perfect buddy to us~So sad that Rico lost his home but now he is with PPR, we will find him a wonderful new family where he will be so spoiled and loved.

He is a typical goofy puppy, very friendly and loves to play. His foster mom tells us that he is an expert snuggler and a wannabe lap dog! He loves to play fetch and will bring his toy back for you to throw time and time again! He is great with her dogs and loves to kiss the kids! Just an awesome family dog! Talladega was in the puppy room at the shelter when unfortunately another puppy got sick and the whole room was put into quarantine. Talladega spend a couple of weeks shut up in a small cage unable to even be taken outside. Talladega luckily stayed well and when the puppy room was reopened we were able to finally get him out of there.

BEANIE: ADOPTED This cute little guy was brought to the shelter after he was found wandering around town with Butters. We don't know if they came from the same home or if they just found one another while out on their adventures! CHERRY - ADOPTED is a sweet young adult that is a true lap dog. She is very sweet, can take a few minutes to warm up but in no time is ready to snuggle. She enjoys the company of her doggie foster sister, sleeps on her foster mom's bed at night, and is house trained. She's good with cats too!

She will make a darling companion for some lucky family that is looking for a smaller dog.

HARLEY! ADOPTED This senior girl was being surrendered to Animal Control while we were visiting. Her owner filled out the surrender paperwork while she sat quietly, occasionally looking up to him. The shelter was already bursting at the seams with several dogs sharing a kennel. What to do? An owner surrender senior in an over crowded shelter wouldn't stand much chance of getting out alive. Our hearts told us we had to help and so HARLEY is now a PPR girl. She spent time at doggie daycare before going into a foster home and the staff told us she loved to play with her doggie friends her own size or at least 30 lbs. Harley would do best in a home without felines or small dogs.
Her foster mom tells us she loves to chill and cuddle on the couch when it's time to watch TV! Likes to ride in the car too! House trained and knows sit and down. She never chews anything she is not meant to. Good with kids. Although she is a middle aged girl, she still loves to play and has funny 'puppy bursts' of energy.

Meet RUSTY! ADOPTED This teeny, tiny, elderly gentlemen found himself surrendered to Animal Control after his owner passed away. It was sad that there was no family member to give him a place to stay. Rusty is in his golden retirement years: every age 'guestimate' is just that, but we can safely say he is in his double digits.
His foster mom tells us: He sleeps most of the time. I bring him out for a potty break whenever he wakes up and he goes no problem. He is eating well and has a good appetite. He doesn’t mind the other animals in the house (though honestly he doesn’t know they are there unless they are literally right next to him). He gives lots of kisses.
Rusty's teeth are not the best, but unfortunately anesthesia is not safe for this little man and so he will happily eat a soft canned diet.

DIMITRI and his friend KOBY were abandoned at a boarding kennels. When it was realized that no one was coming back to get them, Animal Control was called and off to the shelter they went. Just so sad for these two adorable boys. They are both sweet and friendly and certainly deserve a nice new family to spoil them. They were not bonded, are happy in their separate foster homes and can be adopted separately.
They are seniors - of course we don't know how old but are estimating 8 - 9 years old. They weigh in the region of 15 lbs.

BENJI - ADOPTED - Oh look at this adorable, goofy boy! Those hound dog ears and eyes! Such a joy to be around as he is such a happy soul! Even a trip to Animal Control was fun for him - making new friends with the volunteers. He loves to play, loves his dog friends, loves kids - actually we haven't found one thing he doesn't like yet! His hound dog nose led him astray and he was picked up as a lost dog. His new family will need to keep better tabs on him so he doesn't wander again.
Benji is young, around a year and weighs in the region of 50 lbs (but he is on the skinny side and could do with putting on a few more pounds).

HARPER - ADOPTED is a young and silly, bouncy, kissy, playful adorable young lady!! She is your all around happy and social butterfly! As with all puppies adopted from PPR, potential adopters need to have a plan in place to attend a basic training class so puppies grow up to be good doggie citizens.

This adorable little girl is ETHEL! ADOPTED A fun girl that is as sweet as pie! She is spunky and certainly no shy wallflower. She's playful, good with dogs and loves the kids in her foster home. Her foster mom said she is "like a warm snuggly potato all night"! Ethel had a home, she was loved but unfortunately her owner got very sick and was not able to take care of her any longer. She was taken back to the pound where she had previously been adopted from. A volunteer was visiting and let us know that she was in need and so, of course, we offered to help. Around a year old and weighing just 11 lbs, this cutie had already made two trips to the animal shelter. She now is looking for a new family that will love her FOREVER!

YANNI was brought to the shelter by someone that found him after she tried unsuccessfully to find his family. She took him to her vet to check for microchip, had his shots updated and he was given a bath.
We can't believe someone was missing this sweetie but now we will find him a family that will appreciate him for the gem he is.
He's sweet and snuggly and we will have more information on him once he gets into a foster home this weekend.

FURAHAH - ADOPTED - which means "joy and happiness" and our sweet Furahah certainly exudes both! Even after being shut up at Animal Control for 6 weeks, this girl was happy and friendly and ready to play! It is rare for a dog to spend that long at this rural shelter but the staff saw something special in her too and kept her safe for so long.
She was found as a lost dog and brought to the shelter but no one came to look for her. She is happy - yes we use that word a lot - bouncy, playful and a nice medium size at 26 lbs.

KAIA - ADOPTED The seniors always tug at our heart strings when we see them locked up at Animal Control. It's so sad to think of their life ending there. Kaia, being black, heart worm positive and a little older, stood no chance of making it out alive without rescue. She is a happy, tail wagging girl. Though she has a grey muzzle, this girl is ready to do whatever you want - she loves to snuggle on the couch, but she is also playful and ready to go on walks with you. She settles nicely in the house and doesn't get into stuff. Kaia would make a great addition for someone looking for a low key companion! She is happy to hang out with her people, is housetrained, quiet, loves to take naps, walks nicely on the leash, not really into playing with other dogs but loves toys!
Kaia weighs around 45 lbs - we are not sure of her age, and she is not telling, but we have her listed as a senior and she qualifies for our 'Grey Muzzle' program with an adoption donation of $150.

MARTIN! ADOPTED This little cutie was found wandering around town so a concerned citizen scooped him up and brought him to the pound hoping his owner would come and find him. After his stray hold was up and no one claimed him, we decided he should be a PPR dog.
Not only is Martin extremely handsome (look at that adorable face and his little 'snaggle tooth'), he is a friendly boy that is doing great with the dogs in his foster home. He loves to play with his toys! He absolutely loves people and starts wagging his whole body when he sees someone new, even if only from afar. Would be a perfect companion for someone that wants a smaller dog to accompany them on errands and be a snuggle bug when home.

Meet RED - ADOPTED What a sweetie! Red found herself at the scary Animal Control when her owner became sick and could not take care of her or her sister. Her sister was immediately adopted (she was a cutie too) but Red retreated to the back of her kennel and so she became available to a rescue only. We knew she was just frightened with all the dogs barking and people looking at her. Now relaxing in a loving foster home, we are able to find out more about her and she is forgetting the horrible ordeal of losing her home. Her foster mom tells us she loves everyone - does present as a tad shy but that is to be expected. She gets on fine with the dogs in the foster home, curious about the foster kittens in the home too! She reminds us of a baby deer!
We think Red is around a year old. She is quite skinny - probably didn't eat much while she was at the shelter.

NORENE -ADOPTED stole our hearts when we first saw her at the shelter! Norene is so very happy, loving, and friendly! Look at that gorgeous shiny black coat! MINNIE - ADOPTED is a darling pup who unfortunately found herself on the euthanasia list at the shelter. She had double 'cherry eyes' and so no one was interested in adopting her. It's easily corrected by surgery and that is what we were able to do for her. Now she is as good as new! Minnie's foster mom tells us she loves to follow her people around, lie at their feet or snuggle in their lap. She's a wonderful companion! She plays well with other dogs once she gets to know them!

FOPDOODLE - ADOPTED - Another owner surrender! Fopdoodle was adopted as a little puppy from Animal Control and now returned as owner was not ready for a puppy. Yes puppies require a lot of your time and patience. They will chew your shoes and get into your stuff if you don't spend time supervising and training them. Fopdoodle is safe in our rescue now and we will find her a family that are ready for the responsibility of bringing home a puppy! She is a sweet and loving girl. Loves to play with dogs of all sizes. Good on a leash, in her crate and loves people.

Tux has shortie little legs - he is a low rider! He was picked up as a stray running along a busy road - Thank goodness he's safe now.

MAVERICK - ADOPTED is our latest 'hound' recruit! You know how much PPR LOVES their hounds! Maverick is adorable - so handsome and those light colored eyelashes make him look 'sleepy'! He is very friendly and social and though the shelter listed him as 7 years old, he is playful so no one really knows! He is well mannered and just a happy soul that is friendly and gentle.
He was a lost dog that someone found and bought him to the shelter.

This happy chappie is BENZ! ADOPTED He is a spunky little guy, cute, friendly and very social. He loves treats and takes them nicely. He is a snuggle bunny too! His owner was moving and dropped Benz off at the pound on his way out of town. We are sad for Benz but actually it's for the best! We will find him a new family that will spoil him and take better care of him. Benz is young and will have a good life ahead of him now.

GUMDROP - ADOPTED may be a small dude, but he’s got a lot of personality! When we opened his cage at Animal Control, he jumped right into our arms! Of course, there was no way we could put him back! He's is just such a happy fella and wasn't letting a trip to the shelter bother him at all! His foster mom tells us he is a delight to have around. Gets on great with her dogs, doesn't bother the cats. He loves to sit on the deck and soak up the sunshine when he's not snuggling with her! He's a perfect lap dog and sleeps nicely on her bed at night. Gumdrop was picked up as a stray and though he was chipped, the information was not kept up to date. Some lucky person now has the opportunity to adopt a wonderful companion.
Gumdrop weighs 11 lbs, has been vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, heart worm tested negative and neutered. We are not sure how old Gumdrop is (and he is not telling) but his teeth are a little discolored. He has the cutest little underbite. Our vet did a dental and thinks 6 - 8 years old. He qualifies for our senior adoption donation of $250 which helps towards the costs of caring for our rescue pets.

ENZO ADOPTED

HUGO and ENZO ADOPTED are two darling brothers that were dropped off at Animal Control with their litter mates after someone 'found' them. We have no information on their parents but we think they could have some hound in them. Look at their soft as silk ears!
They are both well socialized so we think they must have received lots of attention even though they were probably an unwanted litter. HUGO is one smart cookie -His foster mom tells us he has already learned how to sit nicely and shake paw. Housetraining is going well too! Hugo and Enzo have received age appropriate vaccinations (will need more), have been dewormed, microchipped and neutered.
They weigh 10 - 12 lbs so they probably will end up being on the medium size - just a guess!

THUNDER - ADOPTED is just such a sweet and friendly guy! He loves everyone and the word stranger is not in his vocabulary! He makes new friends wherever he goes! He is quick to roll over for you to rub his belly and he rides well in the car! Unfortunately his owner passed and Thunder was taken to the pound. He has not had the best of care in the past though it's obvious he was well loved. He is missing fur, has been treated for ear and skin infections and had had his teeth cleaned. Some good nutrition and he will soon be looking much better! He is a diamond in the rough and will soon be shining!

LILO - ADOPTED is a cute little fella that is just too adorable for words. He is happy and friendly, good with other dogs too. Look at that smiling face and little nub tail! Lilo came into the shelter as a stray and his owner never came to look for him so now he is a PPR dog. His foster mom tells us: Lilo is such a good boy! GINGER & MAGGIE- ADOPTED Two adorable young ladies that found themselves looking for a new home after their owner unfortunately got sick and couldn't take care of them any more. We offered to help so the owner didn't have to worry about them. They are sisters, adopted from the shelter when they were young puppies. They are very sweet, friendly and adorable. They have lived with cats and are good with other dogs. They were obviously well loved and taken care of by their owner who says they do not need to be adopted together.
Ginger is the darker of the pair, Maggie has the little underbite. They are around 3 years old and weigh 16 lbs.

ZIGGY - ADOPTED is just the cutest little guy! His little tail never stops wagging if you are talking to him (or feeding him - he LOVES to eat)! Ziggy is blind. You really wouldn't know as he gets around so well. He was picked up in Atlanta as a stray. We don't know why he was wondering the streets. The shelter noticed he had a problem with his eyes and it was diagnosed as Glaucoma. He needed both eyes removed immediately. Of course we rescued him and got him the surgery. He also needed a dental as well as the usual vetting. Ziggy really needed our help and we are so glad that we were able to help him. Now we will find him a wonderful new family so he can start the next chapter of his life. Everyone loves Ziggy - we hope you will too!

Meet HENRIETTA ADOPTED - She was shy and scared at the shelter - didn't know quite what to make of all the commotion! Once we got her out of there and into a foster home she has blossomed. COSMO: ADOPTED Handsome, very friendly and playful pup - what a super combination! He has puppy energy but in a fun way. He's ready for a family that can take the time to teach him all the things his previous owner should have - basic stuff as how to sit, walk on a leash, etc. Cosmo was turned in by his owner as he was too much puppy for an apartment and owner was working long hours. He has some hair loss but that is being treated - probably caused by the stress of being left alone for long hours and a visit to the shelter. Cosmo is under a year old and weighs 35 lbs. He probably has a little more growing to do - he's like a mini German Shepherd mix!

DOOLEY: ADOPTED Where are all our hound dog lovers? You have to check out this happy boy! Dooley is as sweet as pie and has those adorable sad puppy dog eyes that just make you want to love on him! SOFIA - ADOPTED- Her foster family calls her Princess Sofia and indeed this little girl likes to be treated like royalty. Unfortunately her life has not been the best up to now as evidenced by the fact she was picked up by the dog catcher and spent weeks at the scary pound. She hasn't let her misfortune affect her too much and is happy being spoiled by her foster family. They tell us that she is just a sweetie! She loves to be held and snuggling is her favorite past time. She is good with their dogs and seems to be house trained. Sofia does have a little hair loss but we think that was due to a flea allergy and now she's been treated and receiving good nutrition, her hair is coming back in nicely!

Doc McScruffins: ADOPTED This terrier pup knows no fear! He’s outgoing, energetic, clever- he’s a scruffy bundle of fun! Doc is a young pup who needs education to become the best he can be. It’s a long-term project with excellent rewards for your work. He loves dogs, cats, all sorts of people- but we do not recommend very tiny children, as he is teething and exuberant. We don’t know what he’s made of, apart from dog, so we don’t know if he will top out at 25lbs or 50+lbs. -that’s the magic of puppies! We do know he’s pretty awesome and with dedicated people (who plan on giving him an excellent education), he’s going to be a dog of a lifetime. Think you’re those people?

ADARA -ADOPTED - this adorable Boxer mix girl has not had the best start in life. We met her at the Atlanta Animal Control where she had been picked up as a stray and was waiting in the sick bay for rescue. She had patches of missing fur and skin infections. Such a sweet and happy girl, her tail was wagging as she gave us sweet kisses. She has been treated for the skin issues and she is already looking much better! With some good nutrition, her coat will be soft and shiny again.
Adara is friendly and enjoys playing with her doggie friends. She is young, we think about a year old and weighs 45 lbs.

EMILIE! ADOPTED How can you look at this sweet face (with it's sprinkle of 'frosting') and not want to love on this beautiful girl? Well we certainly fell under her spell when we met her at the shelter. She gave us kisses and nuzzled us for more petting. Sweetheart!

Hi! My name is DANDIE -ADOPTED(but my foster family call me Doobers or Doobs and I don't mind)! I spent weeks at Animal Control - no one wanted me because I have a bum left wrist. It happened a while ago, it was broken I think and my owner never got me any vet attention. It's healed now and I have got used to getting around just fine. I heard people say I might need to lose my leg and I got very depressed. I was lonely at the shelter, stuck in 'sick bay'. I stopped eating. But then a miracle - the volunteers all posted me on social media and PPR came and rescued me! They took me to the vets. I had to spend a few days there while they ran all sorts of tests, took xrays but good news! I get to keep my leg. A wonderful foster family invited me to stay with them! I'm getting around amazingly and as long as I get my daily pain meds and supplements, I am good! I love being with my foster family - their dogs play with me and let me chase them. (I am respectful of the cat as I know I'm not allowed to play or chase him.) I have put on some weight now I'm feeling happier - life is good! My foster mommies tell me I am a very, VERY good dog. I'm sweet and friendly! I sleep a lot on my nice comfy bed, and apparently I snore which they say is adorable! They think I may be a little hard of hearing as thunder storms don't bother me - I sleep right through them!

She was surrendered to Animal Control as her owner said she liked to wander and the neighbors complained when she would visit them. Sounds like Wynne wasn't happy with her family and so we will find her a new one that will keep better tabs on her and spoil her so she won't be tempted to stray again! Her foster mom tells us: Wynne is mellow and sweet, nicely settled in the house with available puppy energy for playtime. Chill and friendly with other dogs. Pretty easy on the leash. Needs work on that and basic obedience but very intelligent and motivated and a quick study. A friendly, affectionate ‘leaner’ who loves human attention; waggles her whole body to make up for the stub tail. Loves ball play, tug and fetch. An absolute doll with her badger face markings and sweet nature.

Unfortunately the owner was in Utah and he had given Schnapps away and didn't have their details. Well probably for the best as we will find Schnapps a wonderful new family that will take good care of him. Two most adorable 3 month old shepherd sisters. Just look at those ears!! Up, down, or in between? Who knows! Sweet and friendly, their owner was moving and couldn't take them. They are are available to adopt separately. We prefer new families that can show us they are familiar with the shepherd breed and are committed to training them so they can grow up to be good canine citizens.
They are smart cookies, already know how to sit when treats are involved! Potty training is going well too!

Grover is a friendly boy, outgoing and very social. He is very easy going and happy to do whatever you want, be that a walk, play time, or a cuddle/snuggle session! What a lover boy he is too! His foster mom tells us: Grover has been wonderful to foster. He is very well house trained, a cuddle bug, and likes his crate. He's been playing with our dog and has met other dogs. With her stunning grey coat and her waggy tail, Teaberry got our attention as we were walking through the crowded kennels at Animal Control.
Her foster mom tells us: Teaberry, sweet demeanor, quiet, polite. Beautiful, unique brown/gray coat. Does not lunge, nor bark at strangers, actually loves to be touched. Inquisitive, but does not chew on furniture, nor shoes, nor garbage cans. Does not beg for food, lays down when we are eating. Easily listens to commands. Walks well on leash. Sleeps really well. Good with other dogs and cats, inquisitive. Great companion dog, bonds easily. Good size, neither small or large.
Teaberry had a family, they probably taught her other commands and spent time playing with her. Unfortunately they were moving and Teaberry wasn't invited to go with them.

CATE - ADOPTED is a very social puppy, friendly to everyone she meets both human and canine! Cate will make you smile! Her ears have not quite made up their mind if they are uppies or downies but she is just a baby and still has some growing to do. It will be fun to see what her ears end up doing! Cate can’t wait to have a home to call her own with a family that is ready to spoil her with kisses and one that will help her learn to be a well behaved doggie citizen. TOPAZ! ADOPTED The shelter volunteers named her and we think it fits her perfectly! She is gorgeous with the most beautiful amber colored eyes! It's the first thing you notice but hard to capture with a photo! You have to meet her in person! She is such a pretty girl. We love her temperament, she is gentle and sweet. Topaz knows how to sit, walks well on leash and greets people nicely.. She was picked up as a stray so we have no information on her background, but we think she must have had a family in her life as she is well mannered.

Handsome HANOVER - ADOPTED seems to love everyone he meets, he's friendly and loves to be pet. He even gives hugs, jumping up gently so you can love on him some more! His family taught him a few commands it seems, he sits nicely and takes treats gently. He probably knows more. Unfortunately this sweet boy was dropped off at animal control because his family was moving. His foster family tells us: Hanover is having fun playing and exploring. He loves hanging out and chilling. He is very sweet and absolutely loves attention. His whole body wiggles. He will try to jump up to give you a kiss. Very curious and does counter a surf. The TEXAS puppies! AUSTIN, DALLAS, FRESNO, TEXARKANA, AND BEAUMONT - ADOPTED- 5 brothers that were dropped off at the shelter! What a cute bunch - an assortment of colors, long and short hair, long and short legs! We have no information on parents so please don't ask us for breed IDs - your guess is as good as ours! They were on the shy side when we met them but now they have blossomed in their foster homes and are ready to travel and start their new lives.
Please be ready to bring a puppy home. We need to know you have a plan in place for training - puppies can't be left alone for long periods and will need patient owners that will help them reach their full potential. They are fun boys that might still present as a tad shy after their journey - another dog in the home to play with would be great. They are especially kissy and loving.

JAINE - ADOPTED Her owner passed and a family member did take her in but unfortunately it wasn't a good fit for this little one and she wasn't happy. She wasn't a fan of the big dog in the household already and her new owner was worried she couldn't keep Jaine safe. After a few months she decided Jaine would be happier in a home where she could receive more attention, and no terrier to chase her! She's a sweet girl, not shy or 'yappy', used to being around other dogs and part of a busy family.
We offered to find Jaine a new family that will have more time for her and is looking for a lap dog to spoil.
We think Jaine is around 6 - 7 years old and weighs in the region of 10 lbs. She is a little on the chunky side and apparently does love her treats!

TIA JUANA: ADOPTED This sweet girl was surrendered to Animal Control in February along with other dogs as her owner was unable to care for them any more. We learned that was still waiting on a recent visit and of course, we invited her to join our rescue. We took her outside and she just so enjoyed feeling the sun on her back and rolled around in the grass. After several weeks in a kennel - it felt good! She trotted along nicely on the leash and then was happy to sit on our volunteers lap and be petted.
The shelter listed her as around 5 years old. Of course that is only a guess as she is not telling and owner didn't leave any information. What we do know is that she is as sweet as can be, friendly, loves to be cuddled and will make a great low key companion for someone looking for a snuggle bug!

MELBA - ADOPTED is a very sweet girl that can’t wait to have a family to call her own. She is a tad on the shy side but cuddles up to you and gives little kisses. LIL' GIRL! ADOPTED This precious pup has had a rough couple of months. First a visit to a very overcrowded animal control. Then, when we were able to rescue her, she got sick with a virus and ended up at the emergency vet for several days! We weren't sure if she was going to make it but luckily with 24/7 hospital care, she pulled through and is now finally ready to start her new life! She reminds bright and cheerful, happy and friendly despite this rocky start in life! We are looking for a family that will show her the good life from now on!

JETSON - ADOPTED!
His foster mom tells us:
Jetson is a very calm and mature 7-year-old, with a sweet playful side. He’s friendly with both people and other dogs. He’s good on a leash and in the car. He doesn’t appear to have been trained, but is very well behaved and housebroken. He definitely likes his food (he is currently 16 pounds and could stand to lose a pound or two), but is not food aggressive at all. Right now he looks like a cute little piglet because he had to be shaved. But his lovely coat will eventually grow back and will need to be groomed regularly. He is very lovable and has lots of love to give!
This sweet boys' life changed when his owner surrendered him to PPR. His owner had not been able to get him the care he needed and wanted a better life for Jetson. Apart from being severely matted and needing to be shaved down to his skin, Jetson needed a dental, a growth under his chin removed, as well as his basic vetting and testing. Luckily we were able to help Jetson and now he's ready for his new life. He would like a new family that will keep his coat in tip top condition with regular grooming.

BRAN- ADOPTED can be a little shy initially, but give him a minute or two and he's ready to be your best friend. He's a confident little boy - typical chihuahua he can be a bit bossy though. Probably best to say no little kids because of his size and also could be too busy for him.

And it sure did help get her noticed by our volunteers on a recent visit to Animal Control. She is very pretty too! Such a sweet girl, tad shy in new situations, but friendly. She loves to play with her doggie friends and would make a great doggie companion!
Unfortunately Jolie's family did not keep her up to date on heart worm prevention and she had to undergo the painful heart worm treatment before she could be available to find her new home!

This cutie is LUCY BELL! ADOPTED How did she catch our attention in an overcrowded shelter with 100s of dogs? Well she is sweet as the day is long and she shares a last name with one of our founders! It was impossible to leave her behind at animal control, knowing she is a long, lost relative. This gangly legged hound mix lives for fun but never refuses snuggle time. She is good with other dogs and would do well in a home with another dog. She is still a puppy so will need an owner who will take the time to teach her to be the best dog she can be! She is housetrained and already knows how to sit nicely so training should be fun for you both.

ADOPTED This cutie pie found herself at Animal Control -- What a scary experience for a little one She just clung to one of our volunteers so of course she became a PPR girl and we got her out of there as soon as her stray hold was up! She’s sweet and sassy, good with other dogs once introduced. She's a fluffy little bunny that is looking for a lap to sit on and an owner that will spoil her as she so deserves. She is snuggly and the perfect tiny size.

Chandler is sweet and he must have been someone's beloved pet at one time as they took the time to get him neutered.

A trip to Animal Control resulted in her catching a nasty cold and she didn't feel at all well. After some TLC, medicine, rest and good food, Osa is now ready to find her new family! Everyone that meets her says she is a sweetheart, quiet and gives the best kisses. Osa can’t wait to have a home to call her own; a home that is ready to love and spoil her. Life hasn't been that wonderful up to now but that's all going to change now she is a PPR girl.

This adorable princess is ZADIE - ADOPTED! We don't know why she was wandering the streets of Atlanta all alone! That is not safe for a little one like her - well not safe for any dog or kitty of course. She was taken to the pound and when no family came to claim her, we invited her to join our rescue. The shelter thought she might have been pregnant but after a visit to our vet, it was determined that she wasn't - just a little 'chunky' and she may have just finished nursing a litter. Her puppy making days are now over and she went to a foster home to recuperate. Her foster mom tells us: Zadie is very sweet and loving, and of course, very pretty. She is house trained, great on a leash, not a barker and great with older kids . She doesn't always like to share her person though so may do better as the only pet or with someone that is willing to help her learn that it's ok to share.

TRULEE - ADOPTED is a little sweetheart! She was a tad unsure when we met her at the shelter, BUT once this darling girl feels comfortable, she gives lots of love! Trulee was abandoned with other dogs in a house after their owner moved and left them behind. Her foster mom tells us: Trulee has the perfect little heart marking in her head which makes sense since she is pure LOVE! She is the perfect balance of sweet and fun and will make someone so happy!! Trulee is a special girl looking for a second chance - Could you be that family to give her safety and stability and a forever home?

KIRBEE- ADOPTED is a lovebug through and through. His foster mom tells us: Kirbee the happy puppy should be his full name 😄
He is a sweet little guy that gets along great with other dogs. He is respectful with our cat.
He does well on walks, he loves to be outside and explore. So far he's doing well with his housetraining. Kirbee is crate trained, sleeps well in his crate.
Treats...Kirbee goes crazy over treats! If you want his attention, just open a bag of treats and he'll come running over and do his excited dance.
Kirbee was brought to Animal Control while we were visiting by a kind person who found him lost. He was wearing a ribbon for a collar that was tied to a piece of wire. It looked like he had been tied out and had chewed his way free. We immediately told the shelter we would take him as soon as his stray hold was up as it was obvious he needed a new home! A family that will spoil him, buy him a nice collar (and ID tag), and make him part of a loving family. Luckily he wasn't reclaimed and he is now available to adopt!

Look at this adorable young pup! Such a pretty girl with her brindle striped coat! She is sweet and friendly, ready to greet each day with a happy, sunny personality. Muffin Cakes had a family, she was loved for sure, but unfortunately Muffin Cakes' owners neglected to get permission from their landlord before bringing her home. Rebekah is the sweet girl we rescued a while back with the broken leg. Our Orthopedic vet thought surgery might be a option but after observing for a while, he decided rest, meds and rehab was the best option. The fracture seemed to be an old injury and was already healing. Rebeka uses the leg just fine and surgery gave no guarantees that she would be able to use it more than she already was.

Unfortunately Romesca tested positive for heart worms and had to go through treatment as her previous family did not keep her on monthly heart worm prevention. We are so glad that we could get her treated and we will find her a wonderful new family that will love and spoil her forever!

We have no information on dad, so please don't ask what breed the puppies are. They are adorable, sweet, friendly 'mutts'! These sweeties are busy little bees! They are highly social, active and energetic. They are looking for homes where they can get plenty of attention, affection along with proper training.
Puppies are a lot of fun, but they are also like sponges -- putting on a great foundation requires patience, consistency, and a sense of humor! The more time you spend building your relationship with them, the stronger the foundation will be. They will need help with potty training (though they have made a great start in their foster home) and to learn what is theirs to chew and play with, and what is not. He's almost totally house broken (very rare accidents), is fine in his crate for long periods, is good living with other dogs. The perfect home for Fresno would be one with an outdoor area for him to run and play in, and/or a person/family that can play with him and work with him to develop into a well-mannered adult. He's very trainable, goofy but smart.

Chloe has so much potential and just needs the right people to see that and want to help her. A quieter environment without the busyness of children and lots of visitors coming and going would suit her well. She is fine with the other dogs in her foster home. CHARMAYNE ADOPTED Sweet little Charmayne was picked up as a stray running around at a gas station. No owner came to reclaim her so she became available for rescue. She is slightly shy when she first meets new people, but she warms up easily. Understandable after her spell of being homeless and then being at Animal Control. She loved the attention we gave her and when we sat down, she jumped in our lap and we enjoyed a nice snuggle session.

VALENTINE ADOPTED - A really sweet older lady that would be a great fit for most situations. She's easy going, loves to play with toys and take walks, and enjoys a nice comfy bed. It is always so sad to see the seniors at the shelter. They deserve so much more than the confusion of Animal Control. Valentine, saved on the day of love, just looked so forlorn that we had to help her. Valentine was surrendered to the shelter when her owner (who had her since a puppy) moved and couldn't take her. The shelter had a foster program so she she spent time with a foster who tells us she is great with other dogs and kids (even wee toddlers) and would love another dog in the home. Unfortunately the foster was moving after a couple of months, Valentine had to come back to the shelter. What a journey she has had!

Friendly, fun, playful - He is just your typical happy go lucky puppy that unfortunately drew the short end of the straw in life and at just 6 months old already made two trips to Animal Control. His first visit was when he was part of an unwanted litter. He was quickly adopted - of course everyone loves baby puppies! Unfortunately his owner's circumstances changed and he had to move. Jonas was brought back to the shelter again. His foster mom tells us: Jonas is such a sweetboy! He's crate trained, seems to be totally housebroken. He loves to snuggle and give the best kisses! He is low key in house and his favorite thing to do is be laying next to his person.

BROWNIE: ADOPTED It's so easy to fall in love with this sweetie! (But she does have a black colored coat not brown)! Brownie was dropped off at the shelter as her owner said she was moving. Can you imagine how scary the animal control is for a pet? How about how terrifying it is for one with limited vision? Brownie has congenital cataracts but it certainly doesn't slow her down! Foster mom says: Brownie is such a good girl! You would truly never know she had any vision impairment. She’s had no accidents in the house, comes when called, and now sits on command. She is so good in her crate and sleeps through the night without crying. Despite her cataracts, she’s just a regular, active dog! She is still taking herself for walks around the house on her hind legs, and loves to tuck herself in or burrow under blankets. She is so happy and loves to follow us around the house, with that cute little tail wagging. She’s very adventurous outside and just loves the snow. She likes long walks and likes to climb, so she would be a great hiking companion.

Her foster mom says: This girl is AMAZING! She is petite, friendly, happy, walks great on a leash, house trained, ignores cats, playful, cuddly and pretty, the total package! Mandy was brought to Animal Control to be euthanized as she had a mass on her side and owner didn't want her any more. The shelter staff and volunteers all fell in love with her and so the vet did a biopsy and determined the mass was benign and could be removed. She has a shaved area on her side and the hair is growing back nicely. She's a sweet girl, knows sit and took our treats gently.

WENDY ADOPTED is available now to the right home ♥️ She’s a former semi-feral hoarder case dog. The majority of the dogs from that case were euthanized, due to having never being handled. That means she takes awhile to fall in love with you and to enjoy affection from her human. Wendy has NEVER been aggressive. She’s just been timid. She is a master of skill with other dogs and cats. She is very food motivated. She’s just cute as a button too! She loves her foster mom and will snuggle next to her on the couch. Wendy needs a home that doesn’t mind giving her space and time to learn to love. A fenced yard is important as she is still struggling to understand leashes. Other pets in the home are also really helpful- she looks to them for cues and comfort. We never know who’s out there looking and we know it’s a lot to ask for in a home- but we still think there is someone out there for her. Maybe it’s you, maybe it’s someone you know? Wendy is worth it!

EVETTE ADOPTED - Well look at this adorable, smooshy face, wiggle butt, young lady! Those eyes are just pleading for you to notice her! Evette is a sweet girl that has spent the last few weeks in jail! Yes she was lucky enough to be chosen for the Paws of Purpose program at Rikers. She got to live with an inmate and learned sit, down, stay, leave it and paw. House trained too.
Now Evette has graduated and is ready to find her family! Her foster mom says: Very sweet girl that loves to play with her toys and plays fetch nicely! She would do amazing at agility. An active household would be great for her she has a lot of good energy, but she will play by herself if necessary and will toss and fetch with her own toys!

Her foster mom tells us Ella is a great dog for someone who needs a companion, or works at home and wants a low maintenance dog that is happy to be next to you. She will walk, however she prefers to lie on the couch. That's probably why Ella is on the chunky side and needs to lose a few pounds! Her new owner will need to cut back on the snacks and encourage more activity! What we all need to do really! Foster mom also says she is housebroken, great on the leash and likes to ride in the car. This precious girl is BRISTOL: ADOPTED
She spent two months at Animal Control -- Thanksgiving and Christmas locked in a small cell. Sometimes it's hard to see the black dogs and certainly Bristol has been a victim of this! She is a happy soul despite being locked up so long - tail wagging, friendly and not shy at all. Foster mom says she is cute and cuddly - good with her dog and ignores the cat.

SHORTY - ADOPTED is a cute little fella - a true lowrider with his short little legs! Great conversation starter when everyone asks you 'what kind of dog is that'!
His foster mom tells us that he's good with other dogs and loves to roll around in the snow. Probably just as well, now he's going to live in the north! Shorty prefers a home without kids -- he is not a fan of all the hustle and bustle kids can create.

EMMALINE: ADOPTED With ears like this, you don't have to do much to look totally adorable! Emmaline is a lovebug through and through. This sweetie wants nothing more than a human to love and a home to call her own. She loves every person she has ever met and can't wait to meet you!
Her foster mom tells us she is just a doll - a great houseguest, good with her dogs, house trained and a perfect snuggle companion.

PEPPY:ADOPTED This sweet boy is adorable with his one ear up, one ear down look going on (but sometimes both ears go up)!
He's just a baby, around 6 months old that unfortunately was picked up by the dog catcher. Not sure if he strayed from home or if he was abandoned. Not only is he super cute, he is sweet and friendly and loves to cuddle up with you! His foster mom says he is so sweet and well behaved, crate/house trained and sleeps on the bed with them at night!
Peppy weighs just 12 lbs but has some more growing to do. Probably will stay on the small size though when full grown.

OLLIE - ADOPTED is a little guy who can't wait to be your new buddy! He is super friendly, loves everyone. He may be on the smaller side, but he has a huge personality! He will dance to get your attention and when out walking will stop to say Hi to everyone he meets! Going to make a great addition to someone that likes a dog to accompany them on outings to Starbucks or help run errands with you!
Ollie unfortunately spent weeks at animal control as though many people wanted to adopt him, when they learned he had tested positive for heart worms, they chose other dogs. When we learned he was in need, of course we offered him a place in our rescue. Heart worms are treated now and we will find Ollie a wonderful new family!

MARIAH! ADOPTED   Got toys? Kids? Dogs? Mariah LOVES them all! She has the softest coat and is snuggly. She loves it if you rub her belly! Knows sit and walks nicely on leash. Sweet, sweet girl.
Look at that adorable face! You just want to sit and cuddle with her!  She was sharing a kennel with 4 other dogs in the crowded animal shelter and didn't realize the danger she was in. FRANCISCA - ADOPTED is a happy go lucky girl with lots of smiles, love and kisses to share. She is just too cute! Short and stout, with the sweetest personality! Anyone need a dose of adorable? Francesca is certainly pretty with her brindle coat and white socks. She is very friendly and playful - loves her toys. She would also be a great candidate for puppy classes as she is super smart and eager to learn new things. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious and will make you smile every day! Francisca is a happy, intelligent, beautiful young lady who is hoping for a home that appreciates all of her potential! She’s learned to respect dog-savvy cats with direction from her foster mom, she can play rough with other dogs, but when the other dog is up for it- she doesn’t bother the fuddy-duddy dogs. Are you her people? She would love to meet her people!

LINDZIE - ADOPTED was surrendered to Animal Control with Goldie - they look to be related. Lindzie is sweet but on the shy side and nervous being locked up at the scary shelter. She will need an owner that will be patient and give her time to adjust in her new home. Another dog friend would be great and help give her confidence. Her world has been limited up to now so a busy home with young kids/visitors coming and going would be overwhelming while she settles in.

REAGAN! ADOPTED
First thing you notice are her ears! You just can't miss them! She came into the shelter with a slight head tilt. Our vet checked her out but can find no reason for it. We treated for an ear infection just in case but she still 'tilt's. Of course that makes her even more adorable! She's a typical Chi according to her foster mom -- and because of her size, we would prefer a home with no little kids! She does great with other dogs and is sweet and friendly.
Reagan is about 2 years old and weighs just 4 lbs.

JUNE BUG - ADOPTED is just another adorable puppy that found herself homeless in a very overcrowded metro Atlanta shelter. Those beautiful eyes caught our attention, begging for a second chance at life.
Once we got her out of there, we saw what a typical happy-go-lucky, friendly pup she is. Her joy is unmatched! She loves people, other dogs and to play. If you are looking for a dog to brighten up your life, this pretty girl should be top of your list!

AMBROSIA! - ADOPTED! How can you not fall in love with this pretty girl? We did when we met her at the shelter! Ambrosia is as sweet as can be and always looking to please. This girl has a heart of gold and so much love to give.
She sits nicely for treats and loves to be pet! She gently nudges you when you stop. Love her! Ambrosia would prefer a home without kitties please.

PRUDENCE - ADOPTED is a little sweetheart! She is a little shy at first, but once this cutie feels comfortable, she quickly warms up. Her foster mom says she has good house manners, doesn't get on the furniture unless invited (or lifted up). She seems to be potty trained and goes to the door when it's time to go outside. Good with other dogs too.

TWIRL - ADOPTED She is one roly poly pup! Covered in spots from head to toe! She is beyond cute and just a typical happy pup with not a care in the world! She absolutely loves belly rubs! TWIRL did have an owner and as she sat nicely as soon as she saw our treats, have to think they spent time with her. Twirl will make a great family dog. It will be fun to teach her new things. This pup is ready to learn and have some fun too, could that be with you?

VINNY ADOPTED has the ears and tail of a much larger dog, which makes him incredibly cute. He might present a little shy but warms up very quickly. He has no reservations about making himself right at home and loves to snuggle on the couch. He is a true lap dog! He seems housebroken, walks well on a leash, and does not beg for food. He sits on command and has wanted to greet everyone we encounter on our walks, though he’s shy if they approach him first. We would prefer a home without small kids.

TRUDIE - ADOPTED PPR has a soft spot for beagles and there are always so many at Animal Control - Trudie is our latest recruit! Picked up as a stray, she was chipped, but the information was out of date. She is sweet, happy and with a tail that wags and wags.

MIDNIGHT - ADOPTED - Super cute pup! She is just adorable with her soft coat - so sweet and friendly too. Picked up as a stray, no owner came to claim her, so Midnight is ready to find a new family! She is 35 lbs at 6 months so this girl has the potential to be a big dog when fully grown. She is friendly with other dogs, doing great with her house training and just an all around super family dog. Playful, attentive and smart as a cookie too!

SCOOTER:ADOPTED As soon as we walked in the shelter, the staff said "please consider Scooter! He is such a good boy and we all love him"! Scooter was next on the euthanasia list as he had been at the shelter for a month and they needed his kennel for another dog. Don't know why this boy was overlooked and someone didn't snap him right up! No idea what went into his creation, but he is beyond cute and a nice small size - sweet and friendly.
He was a lost dog that was brought to Animal Control in hopes his owner would come and find him.

GOLDIE - ADOPTED Pretty as a picture with her soft golden fur, this sweetie was surrendered to the shelter along with another dog as owner had too many animals to care for. She was frightened in her kennel but once we got her out of her cage, she melted into our lap and begged us to take her! Of course! She just needed to get out of that scary place! Sweet and wanted to be pet.

NICK- ADOPTED What a handsome guy! Not only handsome but has a lovely personality - sweet, calm, friendly - just a great young pup! He has a wrinkly face that makes him look a bit worried! He came into Animal Control as a stray - we don't know why his owners weren't waiting at the door when the shelter opened to reclaim him! Well we can find him a wonderful new family that will cherish him and spoil him as he so deserves. He loves to be pet and was very happy when he saw we had treats. He sat nicely and took them very gently. A real chill kind of guy.
Nick is around a year old and weighs in at 39 lbs, a nice medium size.

CINNAMON - ADOPTED is a happy, wiggly pup. She does present as a tad shy when you first meet her and so her new family may not see the true Cinnamon when they meet her. She has such a worried look on her pretty face! Cinnamon came into the shelter as a lost dog and finds herself looking for a new family. One that will spoil her, take her on walks, give her a nice comfy bed and, of course, provide lots of toys and playtime!
Her foster mom tells us: doing great with house training - excellent in her crate during the work day - loves people and attention and loves to go for walks..She has learned how to sit, potty outside and play with her doggie friends.
