We named him Tai but you might want to call him Teddy as his coat is soft and thick and he reminds us of a teddy bear! He is a friendly, fun boy, who has a lovely smiley face. RANDOLPH ADOPTED!- Sweet and gentle, he knows several commands, such as sit and down, walks nicely on a leash, is houstrained and good with other dogs. He loves everyone that he meets. We really can't say enough good things about this gentle giant! His coat is soft and shiny - just right for snuggling! He is housetrained and well mannered - a real 'Southern Gentleman'! Randolph did test positive for heartworms and stood little chance of getting adopted from the shelter as unfortunately it is very expensive to treat a dog of his size. Luckily we were able to get him the treatment to kill the heartworms and now he is ready to start his new life!

TESLA - ADOPTED! is a stunning black German Shepherd x boy that is looking for his new family! To say he is handsome, is an understatement - he turns heads wherever he goes! Unfortunately his former family did not appreciate just what a treasure he is. We rescued him from the shelter where he was in poor condition, suffering with heartworms and a nasty cold and cough. He spent many weeks in a loving foster home while he recovered from his heartworm treatment and soon was feeling and looking much better! His foster family did notice he would limp from time to time and after a visit to our specialist vet, it was determined that Tesla has arthritis in one of his knees. It doesn't slow him down and he only limps occasionally but because of this he will need a family that will keep him as an indoor pet - just low impact exercise for him like walking and swimming. He would not be a good candidate for an active outside life with running and jumping and Tesla says he is just fine with this -- he loves to snuggle with his foster family and hangs out with his foster mommy while she works at home on the computer. He gets on great with the other dogs in the family, is friendly and affectionate to people.

PASCAL - ADOPTED! - this little rascal was picked up by Animal Control running loose. His owner decided he didn't want him back and signed him over saying 'he couldn't keep him in the fence'! Well we know we will find Pascal a new family that will make him part of the family so he won't even want to stray from home, and walk him on a leash to keep him safe! Such an adorable beagle mix girl! She is a total wigglebutt, with a big appetite for treats and food! Such a sweet girl, we guess her hound nose led her away from home as she was picked up by Animal Control as a stray. SHEA - ADOPTED! is a family dog all the way! She loves all humans, especially kids. She just loves to be around people because she knows no one can resist her smiley face, waggy tail and sweet kisses. Of course everyone stops to pet her which she absolutely LOVES. She is fostered with other dogs of all sizes, from a dachshund to a rottweiler and plays nicely with them all! She also likes to play with the cats if they will let her, but one swipe with their paw and she backs off! Shea knows sit, shake, lie down, and come - well 'come' depends if there is some interesting smell she has to investigate first. We do think there must be some hound along with pitbull in her somewhere - and where did those ears come from? She is truly unique! Shea is housetrained and well behaved in the house. She loves to snuggle, especially on your lap, and she sleeps nicely in her crate overnight. FRANCES - It's going to be really hard not to spoil this tail wagging, adorable mystery mutt. She seriously steals the hearts of everyone that she meets! Her foster family say she is the perfect family dog, is a great friend to the kids and sleeps with them at night. She sits nicely, especially when treats are involved, and is good on the leash too. She is a snuggle bug and loves to be on your lap too. She is about 2yrs or so, real mystery mutt - shaped like a corgi with some great freckles! 25lbs. Just love her!

Rock Hudson - He is looking for a retirement home with a warm lap (blankets are good too), a tennis ball and toys (he loves to play), yummy food (cause he likes to eat of course) and treats (yup treats!) MR. EVANS-ADOPTED! This guy was named because he looks very much like one of our founder's former Language Arts teachers. HAH! Poodles are smart -very smart. This guy was smart enough to know that he was in serious trouble at the animal control. Our foster home braved his terrified little (10lbs) self and gave him a chance! Not quite 50 shades of brown - but close to it! He came into Animal Control with some wounds on his back, the fur has been shaved and his wounds treated. JUBILEE - ADOPTED! is a sweet but shy 4/5 year old, 24 pound cutie with a story to tell! She was found by firefighters responding to a car fire. After they put out the fire, they noticed a nearby manhole cover was missing. When they looked down the hole, Jubilee looked up at them! We have no idea how long Jubilee was stuck down there, but we sure are glad the firefighters got her out! Jubilee's foster mom just loves her and says she is a very sweet and affectionate, easy going girl, gets on great with her dogs too. Potty trained and very pretty as you can see!

ADOPTED Who lets a gorgeous guy like this wander the streets? This very sweet guy was turned into Animal Control by someone that found him and couldn't locate his owner. He was a tad on the shy side when we met him at the shelter - but who wouldn't be in that loud and scary place! He has made a trip to the groomer's since his intake photo and my goodness what a handsome guy was hiding under all those curls! He will need a new owner that will make grooming a regular part of his life to keep him looking his best! We think Glenlivit is around 2 years old and he weighs 22lbs.

JANIE - ADOPTED! is a sweet, friendly, tail waggy 7 month old Lab mix who loves to make the humans around her happy! She knows how to sit and thinks it would be really fun to learn more tricks! Marzipan is such a sweet pup! Just a total love bug according to her foster mom! She is fabulous with kids, and gets along great with the 3 dogs in her foster home, and doesn't bother the cats! Sweet Anna - ADOPTED is a super sweet, little Doxi girl that was dropped off at Animal Control by an owner that was not able to take care of her any longer. Anna was very scared at the shelter and did not show her best side, so we took her out of the scary shelter and put her in a foster home that describes Anna is a loving, sweet and kissy little girl that loves to explore and snuggle. Anna weighs only about 10 lbs and is 4-5 years old. She would do well in a home without very small children as she is just a little girl that could get overwhelmed by toddlers. Little Pabbie - ADOPTED! came to PPR through a special request from a shelter worker that met Pabbie and saw that he was very scared at the shelter. His owner just dropped him off with no explanation. Pabbie is just a little guy at 10 lbs and is about 4-5 years old. He takes a short minute to warm up to you, but once he loves you he won't stop giving little kisses and cuddle with you. Pabbie would love to go to doggie school to learn some new stuff and gain confidence. Olaf - ADOPTED is a wonderful and very sweet, little Beagle boy. We found Olaf at a shelter with a horrible infection in his chest. He was in so much pain, all he did was whimper. Of course, Olaf came with us and went to the vet the very same day where he was treated and given strong pain meds so he could get better quickly. After Olaf felt a bit better, he went to a foster home that has nothing but good things to say about him. He does very well with other dogs, is very good with even small children and is pretty chill and loves to snuggle and sleep. He will greet you excitedly when ever you come back home. Olaf is only 1-2 years old and weighs 20 lbs. We couldn't imagine a better family dog and hope you will consider him as your new best friend! PAX- ADOPTED! This guy is a great little friend for the right home! He was trapped by the animal control after being at large for most of his 2yrs. How he survived, we don't know.
Pax is small (12lbs) and great with dogs and cats. He is very shy -being on your own for that long will do that to you- but he warms up with patience and time. His foster family loves the happy dance he does when they come home and how he relaxes when everyone is sitting, he even enjoys petting then!

FAITH - ADOPTED! (Olympia) is such a beautiful girl that has unfortunately seen more than her fair share of heartbreak. We rescued her from a high kill Animal Control and she was adopted to a wonderful man. When he fell ill and was not able to take care of her, we brought Faith back into our rescue. She found another family but after a year, they brought a new puppy into the house and Faith was not happy. So now Faith is available once again and is looking for her forever family. She is a good and loving girl -around 50lbs, 2/3 years old, very friendly and affectionate. She would make a great family dog, she loves kids, loves to play ball and is happy to sleep on your bed and keep you warm! She is very sweet, and oh yes she is very, very pretty! She is housetrained and not a barker! No cats in her new home please, she loves to chase them! Young Miss PIPPET - ADOPTED is completely ready to live, love and learn with her new family. She's about 6 months old and happy as can be, fearless and curious. She's got puppy energy but calms herself easily with a toy when everyone else is busy. Plays well with her foster sister and loves kids. She'll need some training but is a very smart cookie, understands "no", and even a little "tsk-tsk" can stop her from puppy nonsense. Sometimes she mistakes a glove for a toy so she'll need to nap in a crate when left alone. She completely understands to do her business outside but needs to go out often because of her age. She is chock full of love and kisses and is the nicest snuggler. Heaven for her is the crook of your arm at the end of the day. She even makes a little puppy grunt when she curls up for the night. ATHENA - ADOPTED! - Absolute sweetheart of a girl. She has had a rough few weeks but never let any of it get her down. Turned into the shelter because her owner could not afford the care she needed. Poor Athena had to have a dental with several teeth removed, a hernia repaired, spay and then heartworm treatment! What a trooper! She sailed through all the procedures with a waggy tail and stole the hearts of all the vet staff that cared for her! Just wants to be with you, snuggles under the covers. ELMO - ADOPTED - is our little scruffy boy that had to have a front leg amputated. He is doing great, was never using his leg so has not missed it at all! Jumps up on the couch so he can get more petting! Sweet lap dog! He is fine with other dogs, not overly bothered with playing with them. He is friendly and just loves all the attention he can get. Rocky - ADOPTED! is an adorable little guy - Breed? Well your guess is as good as ours, but it's a perfect mix! He is sweet, friendly and prances when he walks along, with his head held high! Rocky was surrendered to Animal Control when his owners moved and said they could not take him. He quickly captured hearts at the shelter and the staff just loved him! He is about 3 years old, 20lbs and has a stunning brindle and white coat. Darling boy, we just love him and know you will too!

ADOPTED! This pretty black, fluffy girl is BUFFY! Her foster family tell us that she is a goofy soul who is very eager to learn and is very attentive. She presents as a tad shy, but soon her tail is wagging and she enjoys being around both humans and other animals. She appreciates a comfortable bed, obeys whatever commands you tell her, and showers everyone with kisses! She loves to run and play, She gets along great with the dogs and cats in her foster home and is a good houseguest. She is housebroken, has learnt her crate is a good place and tags along with whatever everyone is doing at the time -- including snuggle time! Meet MINKEY - ADOPTED! This pretty little girl has a very sad story -- We don't know why, but she was dumped in the play yard at the shelter one night. Don't know if that was by her owner, or someone that just found her running loose, but poor little Minkey spent a long and cold night outside before the shelter opened the next day. Understandably, she was a tad shy when we met her, but she soon warmed up and wanted to be pet and sit in our laps. Of course we had to invite her to join the rescue. Minkey is looking for a new family that will totally spoil her and erase all memories of her first life in GA! She is around 18 months old and weighs just 8lbs. We would prefer she join a family without small kids because of her size.

NIKITA! ADOPTED! (also known as 'DOO!
sweet Nikita is happy and loved living with her foster family, but she would love her forever family to find her! She is a gorgeous little lady with a soft, thick coat. She could possibly be any combination of a Chihuahua, Pomeranian, or Miniature Pinscher! We don't really know! All we do know for sure is that you won't find a more loving companion! Her foster family just adore her and nicknamed her 'DOO' - she has joined their pack of little dogs, is super cuddly but also loves to go jogging and playing with her friends in the yard. |
Nikita is really a gem - she presents on the shy side and needs someone that can take the time to get to know her. To know her is to love her that's the truth! A quieter home, without a lot of visitors would suit her best!
Nikita does have a health issue and needs to take a daily seizure medicine, but we are happy to report that they are under control and are few and far between! Blood work revealed no issues with her kidneys, liver, or thyroid and the meds cost less than $10 a month.

CARAMELLO- ADOPTED! - When we saw this beautiful lab mix guy in the shelter, we knew he deserved a chance at a forever home. He was not feeling well with a nasty cough and just looked so miserable. He is a really nice, friendly boy and we didn't want his life to end at Animal Control because he had the misfortune to get sick. He loves to be pet and is very sweet. He got on fine with the other dogs we introduced him too and tried to play, which unfortunately brought on a coughing fit. As soon as he gets settled into his foster home, we will update his bio and get some happy photos!

Elvira - ADOPTED! knows all about spooky! She was dumped as part of an unwanted litter at one of the scariest places, a shelter! PPR to the rescue and now Elvira is happy enjoying life in her foster home! She is so sweet, with a coat that is as soft as velvet and ears that are like silk - just right for rubbing! She loves to play and enjoys a game of chase with the dogs in her foster home. She is affectionate and gives the best kisses too! He is the cutest mix of Pug and Chi and probably lots of other delightful mixes too! He loves to sit up and beg to get your attention. He gets on great with the other dogs he lives with too! Low maintenance is Pugley's middle name, a short walk or time in the yard and he is happy. Would much prefer to be snuggled up with his person on the couch. Meet Chili! - ADOPTED! If you love the big dogs, then you will love Chili! Weighing in at 40lbs and just 5 months old, Chili has some more growing to do and probably will end up a very large guy!! He came into the shelter with his sister Pepper - who is also on the large size too. No idea on breed but he looks like there could be some Great Dane in the mix! He is a very friendly puppy to everyone - people, dogs and cats. Chili is looking for an owner that will commit to training him to be a good canine citizen as right now he has no idea of his size and will jump up to get your attention. An experienced dog owner that will monitor his puppy behaviors and help him learn what is expected of him is what he needs! His foster mom reports that he is house trained, and quiet in the house. An ideal owner for Chili would be an active person, who is looking for a really smart puppy to train to be their best friend.

THE 'FRENCH PUPPIES': ALL ADOPTED! Simone's puppies are ready for their new homes! Simone is a black spaniel mix! Of course, we have no idea who the Dad was and by the looks of the puppies, we could have some Bulldog/Boxer mixed in! They are so cute and are well socialized as they have been in a loving foster home since they were just a couple of days old. 6 boys, and 3 girls! Get on great with other dogs, cats and kids!
