Oakleaf is a young chihuahua mix that is packed with 9 pounds of chihuahua spunkiness! We couldn't tell you much about "Oakey's" background or why he can be a little salty, but he is ADORED by his foster parents. A true and dedicated chihuahua lover will meet Oakey and know exactly how to love him. He gets along very well with the other dogs (all sizes) in his foster home and is extremely playful with those that will play with him. He will feel the happiest in a home with at least one other dog- but the more the merrier!
Oakey can be independent, he loves to explore the yard and enjoys napping in the sunniest spot. He is very good at letting you know when he wants to sit on your lap and get attention (or play with you feet!)- and he is just as good as letting you know when he doesn't!

TINY TIM TIM!-ADOPTED How adorable is this little guy! Unfortunately even little ones like Tim find themselves in the shelter! SEBASTIAN-ADOPTED We are hoping this darling man's forever home is just around the corner, and he just hasn't gotten lucky enough quite yet to find his family. Sebastian is super sweet and snuggly, and is an overall happy dog. He also is a smart pup and motivated to learn as he already has "sit, down, and come" nailed down! Being the full package, Sebastian is playful with other dogs and does well with both cats and children. His foster mom reports that he is crate trained and sleeps in the crate happily throughout the night, he is house trained as well.

LOUIS PAWSTRONG-ADOPTED was surrendered to the shelter along with Bob Doglan by their owner. Louis was adopted from the shelter previously, so it was sad to see him make a return visit. Now settled into his foster home, this is what his foster mom tells us:

BENJI-ADOPTED This little pumpkin is looking for a new family! One of our volunteers was at the shelter when his owners were there to surrender him and was able to intercept him having to go inside! Apparently, they wanted a better life for him as they were gone from the house for many hours and Benji was left alone for too long.
Benji is very sweet so we know we can find him a new family to join. He loves car rides, walks well on a leash and loves to go for walks, He has been used to going to the groomers regularly, and we were given his collection of sweaters! He is used to sleeping on the bed and was good around other small dogs and a cat. Benji is around 8 years old and weighs 15 lbs.

SMALLVILLE-ADOPTEDThis adorable girl was very scared at the shelter and the staff asked us to please take her as she was not going to be made available for adoption there. She has spent time in a loving foster home and away from the stress of being a lost dog, the shelter and transport, she has put all that behind her and her true personality is beginning to shine! She is still on the shy side of course but we know she will continue to blossom with a patient new family. Her foster mom tells us that she is so very sweet, good with her dogs (big and small), ignores the cats, quiet and housebroken.

HARLEQUIN-ADOPTED is stunning to look at with that beautiful red coat! What a looker! Harlequin is sweet, a little shy and submissive in new situations but soon that tail is wagging and she is ready for some loving! Our volunteers took her out to the play yard and she was soon rolling around in the grass and became quite attentive and playful. She loves to have those adorable ears rubbed! Harlequin had a home but unfortunately her family's situation changed and they had to give her up. Harlequin is around 9 months old and weighs in the region of 30 lbs.

The personality matches the looks as his foster mom describes him as "a sweet and goofy boy with a great appetite!" He loves to play with toys, people, and other dogs and would do anything for a belly rub.

QUENTIN TAILRANTINO-ADOPTED Our volunteers couldn't resist this handsome lad when they saw him at the shelter! He had a wound on his tail that was sore from constantly banging it against the side of his kennel. Diagnosis: Happy Tail! He IS a happy boy that loves to be with his people and enjoyed all the attention he got from the shelter volunteers. He certainly is not shy, very friendly and gives the best 'hugs'! He's young and does need some training, but he is super smart and ready to learn. He seems to be crate/house trained too! Does great with other friendly dogs and enjoys kids.

SIMON-ADOPTED is just one of the "chipmunk brothers" brought to the pound as 'unwanted' by their owner. They did not leave any information on the parents but as they are on the smaller size and older puppies, we assume they will be on the small side of medium as adults. (Just a guess)!

DELILAH-ADOPTED is a darling girl looking for her forever family. She recently found her way back to us and we are hoping this time is the charm! Delilah is as sweet as she looks and loves to have gentle kisses and sweet nothings whispered in her ear.

ELIZABETH TAILOR ADOPTED is a super star in the making! She certainly has movie star looks! She can be a little timid at first and may take a minute to warm up to new people, but we don’t blame her. Elizabeth was a lost dog who couldn't find her way home and then being in the shelter too can be a little scary for anyone after all! We would like a new owner that will have patience to keep her safe while she settles in her new home, as we do consider her a flight risk until she settles. Elizabeth has been resting in a GA foster home and appears to be crate and house trained. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night (though she probably would prefer to be in bed with her new owner). She certainly is a lap dog, and she also likes to snuggle with the resident small dog. She does seem a little nervous around the bigger dogs at present.

SKYLAR - ADOPTED This adorable young lady is new to the rescue. The staff at a very overcrowded shelter in downtown Atlanta asked us to please take her as she was a favorite. Because the shelter is so overcrowded, Skylar was sharing a kennel with 3 or more other dogs and got on fine with them. Once she gets to a foster home, we can update her bio with more information.

This beauty is GINGER PAWGERS! ADOPTED This girl likes to give kisses! Be prepared to be covered in them! Photos will never show just how pretty she is with that brindle coat. You need to come meet her and see for yourself! You can also see her Ginger is as sweet as pie, a little on the submissive side and we think she would probably love a doggie friend to play with. She walks pretty good on a leash and enjoyed riding in the car. Ginger spent several weeks stuck in the back of the shelter as there were no open kennels on the adoption floor. That meant her chance of getting adopted was very slim. Luckily one of our volunteers learned about her, asked for her to be brought out for a meet, and fell in love. Ginger was safe.

KARAMELLO-ADOPTED is a very sweet (and pretty) girl who gives the BEST kisses. Karamello is looking for a new home after she was picked up by animal control running loose in a very rural area of the North Georgia mountains. She was not available for adoption at the shelter as they wanted to make sure a rescue would help her find the perfect home. She has been in foster now for a few weeks and her foster mom tells us: Karamello is a typical border collie; super, super smart and learns things very quickly. She loves to be with her person and is a good houseguest. She enjoys being outdoors, she would make a great hiking buddy, and she can clear your yard of squirrels and other critters in no time! She obviously picked up some bad habits in her first life, maybe she was left outside with nothing to occupy her. A car or truck will immediately get her attention and she will want to chase it. We have been working with her to not react, but this is something her new owner will have to continue. She also can be a little unsure of new situations but give her a minute or two (and some treats) and she snuggles up for attention. She is a great snuggler, loves belly rubs and happy to share the couch with you.

DUANE PAWMAN-ADOPTED is looking for a person to call his very own. A family that will love him as much as he will love back. Duane is settling in very nicely to foster care after spending several weeks at animal control. Duane and his brother Gregg were surrendered to the shelter along with other dogs as their owner could no longer afford to care for them all. When the shelter ran out of space, Gregg and Duane were out of time. Of course, we invited them to join the rescue!
His foster dad says that he travels well in the car, is doing great with house training, and seems to love everyone he meets! The word "stranger" is not in his vocabulary! He is playful with his foster siblings and loves to meet the other dogs and people while taking walks around the neighboorhhod. GREGG PAWMAN-ADOPTED Looking for a bundle of fun…AND a bundle of love? Gregg is the dog for you! This friendly boy is as sweet as can be and loves to be pet! He waits nicely for his breakfast and dinner and takes biscuits very gently. He is willing to explore healthy treats like carrots and cucumbers. He will bark but only one very necessary. Somebody will be very lucky to have him in their life.

MILA-ADOPTED is a doughy eyed love bug waiting for her perfect someone. She loves to get to the bottom of the toy bin at her foster home and proudly parades with her toys. If you have an open spot on the couch, she's in it and looking to be as close as possible! Mila would be a great family dog as she enjoys children but would also be happy to be your only child. If a lifestyle of lounging and loving is up your alley- she may be the one for you! A home without cats or small dogs would help set her up for success.

BROOKE LYNNE-ADOPTED is a super fun pup with plenty of puppy energy! She will take out all the toys from the toy box and keep herself amused playing with everyone. She is a professional at the zoomies and will fly past you with a toy in her mouth! Brooke Lynne loves to play tug and also appreciates a nice chew toy as she is teething. She is super smart, loves to learn new things - already has the sit command mastered. House and crate trained.

SCALAWAG-ADOPTED This adorable, happy, tail wagging girl stole our hearts when we met her! At just 6 months old, she had already been a visitor to animal control twice! The first time adopted as a little puppy, and then recently a second time, when the shelter was told by the owner 'didn't have time for her'! She is young and has puppy energy, but is super sweet and friendly! She loves playing with other dogs and is so adorable! We invited her to join the rescue so we can find her a new family that understands the responsibility of taking on a young dog and will give her a forever home! Miss Scalawag currently weighs around 30 lbs but has some growing to do at only 6 months old. Scalawag has been vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, heart worm tested negative and spayed. RUBY ROSE-ADOPTED is a pretty hound/lab mix that was given away by her family at a camp site. Luckily one of our GA volunteers was able to bring her home. Now in NY, her foster mom tells us: "Ruby is the cutest! She is a great leg warmer and lover of soft pillows Loves everyone, dogs, and kitties included. She quickly learned the house routine and enjoys playing with the other dogs in the house. We think she would enjoy some kids and another dog to keep her busy though that is not a requirement."

FREDDIE MUTTCURY-ADOPTED is a darling young pup that is having a blast playing with his doggie friends in his foster home! He does have puppy energy so another pup to play with would suit him, or maybe a family that will has time to spend with him to keep him busy. He loves his toys and often just walks around with one in his mouth! Freddie is good with the older dogs and respects their "no". He likes to chase balls and brings them back, walks on leash nicely, but still pulls a bit especially when he gets excited. With training, we think he will be the best dog ever! He sleeps with his foster mom at night, and she says he is very affectionate and gives the sweetest kisses!

SYCAMORE & BANTU-ADOPTED are two darling girls that are a ready -made family looking for a warm lap to cuddle up on together. We try not to dwell on the past, but these gals have had their fair share of turmoil. Sycamore & Bantu were abandoned after hours at the animal control with little food and water. We think their "Chapter Two" should be with someone that can give them lots of love, spoiling, and show them how dogs are supposed to be adored!
Sycamore weighs only 6lbs, Bantu weighs 10lbs. They are clearly bonded to each other, and we think it's essential they are adopted together. We are also asking for no young children due their teeny size. They have been vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, heart worm tested negative, and spayed.

He shadows his person and quietly follows them from room to room, if you catch his eye, he hops in the air to give the gentlest kisses and sometimes a gentle nibble on the tip of your nose! Man Man is in his "sweet spot" age-wise for his breed and still has plenty of energy for walks and zoomies but also appreciates a good nap. KEKE-ADOPTED is a young gal who has the most beautiful coloring and soft, silky ears. She certainly is just stunning! She enjoys other dogs, is learning how to walk on a leash and potty training is going well! Keke is so happy to meet everyone - no shy wallflower is Keke! LUNA-ADOPTED After a little TLC, Luna is looking and feeling like royalty! What a gorgeous girl! Our volunteers first rescued Luna when she covered in all kinds of muck and matted fur at animal control. Luna is a sweet girl, very friendly and well socialized. She is happy to make friends with everyone. Her foster mom says she is settling in fine, sleeps in the crate quietly overnight but does whine a little when she has to be crated while she runs errands.

SHERYL BOW-ADOPTED is a happy go lucky girl with lots of love to share! We promise you that you will fall in love with her as soon as you meet her! She has such a sweet and loving personality. Our volunteers loved her did when they met her at the shelter. This girl spent weeks at animal control, greeting everyone that walked by with a little dance and a wiggle of her cute little nub tail. Unfortunately, she was passed by over time and time again as people chose the small, fluffy dogs. When we learned she was out of time of course, we got her out of there.

SHEEBA-ADOPTED Those of you that follow our rescue, know that we have a soft spot for the black dogs! So often overlooked at the shelter, we always try to help! Well, Sheeba immediately caught our volunteer's attention when we were visiting the pound! She is a petite girl, long legs and big ears! She is very, very sweet, on the shy side and submissive with other dogs. We know that once she gets into her new home, she will blossom and become more confident. She has had a rough few weeks, first being lost and then spending a month at animal control. She needs some love and spoiling.

He probably would have even made the year book awards as “most likely to become a comedian!” Rascal certainly lives up to his name and is always looking for a good time. Seriously-he’s always smiling! He would make a phenomenal companion for someone looking for a fun and loving dog that makes them laugh everyday. His foster mom says, “Rascal has exceeded training expectations and is doing phenomenal in foster care, he is even house trained & crate trained. Rascal is a blast to have in the home and is so sweet once he gets to know and trust you.” Rascal came to us after showing some anxiety with strangers so its important that his forever home knows to continue his training and socialization. BRENDA-ADOPTED spent some time on the run as a stray but became a very lucky girl when one of our volunteers was able to catch her! As soon as her stray hold was up, she went right into foster care as a PPR dog! Her foster mom says that she's been an absolute joy to have since being caught and is "such a happy little thing!" Brenda has been through a lot as you can imagine and would do best with a patient owner that will give her time to come out of her shell. She does well with dogs of all sizes, and even loved the vet staff once they let her warm up! SPARKLER, ROCKET, AND POPPER- ADOPTED are adorable brothers who found themselves dropped off at the pound. The person bringing them in said they were strays, but the shelter suspected they were just an unwanted litter. The puppies were a little unsure at the shelter but now they are in a foster home they are doing great and are typical puppies into everything! They do present as a tad shy but soon warm up.

ELORA and WILLOW- ADOPTED We learned that these two girls were needing a new home and we were able to intercept them before they went to the shelter. Their owner had them since birth along with the mother but was moving in with family and can only take one dog. Both are on the shy side and have obviously lived a pretty quiet life. Crate and housetrained.

NIA-ADOPTED is a stunning girl looking for her forever home! She has such gorgeous coloring and coat, and her loving eyes immediately draw you in. Her personality is just as good as her look, her foster mom says, "She is THE SWEETEST GIRL, and wants nothing more than to follow her people around and be loved." Nia is young and has some energy so an active forever home that can keep her busy would be best. She is excellent at night and goes into her crate without a second thought. Mr. SHORTY- ADOPTED has a big dog body with little dog legs, he’s just so silly and such a conversation starter! We met Shorty and fell in love! Whether you’re looking for a hiking buddy or a companion for your next Netflix marathon on the couch; Shorty is your guy! He loves children and would be a perfect family dog. Sleeps through the night in his crate and is not a big barker. Walks well on a leash. Shorty isn't a fan of small dogs or cats, and he seems to prefer female dogs though he may be happier being an only dog. Poor Shorty was one of the longest residents at the shelter. The dim lighting in the kennels meant he was getting overlooked.

MELANIE-ADOPTED This pretty girl impressed the GA volunteers as she sat so quietly in her kennel just looking at passersby with those sad puppy dog hound eyes. Now she is in her foster home, her family tells us: Melanie is a super sweet awesome girl! She is polite, friendly, housebroken and a big leaner/snuggler. She loves giving you hugs and kisses. She would be an instant best companion!! Someone will be very lucky to have her as their friend! Melanie walks well on a leash and rides well in the car.

NIA POOH- ADOPTED is just a little tiny sweetheart! She absolutely loves everyone she meets, including cats, dogs, and kids. Though, we think a home with older children, if at all, would be best because she is just a tiny ball of fluff weighing under 5 lbs. She loves to snuggle into you at nap time and hops around with her favorite toys during the day! She has beautiful light blue eyes, doing well with house training, and is around 6 months old.

BOBBI-ADOPTED is a very handsome little guy that was picked up as a stray, like so many, and was being over looked at the shelter. When our volunteers came to meet him, he presented as shy and sweet, but seemed confused at why they were taking an interest in him. We absolutely needed to show him the good life in foster care! He would love a forever home that will help him build confidence and give him the loved life he deserves! Bobbi is around 19lbs and about 7 months old. BRAEBURN-ADOPTED is ready to find his new family! This handsome guy is the happiest, friendliest, most loving pup ever and gives the best kisses! A real lover boy! The word stranger is not in his vocabulary at all - he loves everyone! He especially loves kids and is a wannabe lapdog. He is great with dogs of all sizes and has enjoyed going to doggie daycare! He is curious about cats but is friendly to them. He has been doing great with his puppy training, is beyond smart and picks up new things very quickly. He walks well on a leash (unless he sees someone else out walking and then he wants to go say Hi). Braeburn has been in foster for a while as he had some skin issues which we wanted to get checked out by a dermatology vet. We were pleased to find out that there is nothing to be done and his new family will, of course, have all his records.
Braeburn was a member of the Apple litter and was born in a loving foster home. He is very social as he was handled and loved since birth.

DELILAH-ADOPTED nearly lost her life at animal control. She found herself at a very rural shelter in the North Georgia mountains. A small shelter that has no vet on staff. Delilah had some hair loss and so she found herself on the euthanasia list as they can't adopt out 'medical needs' dogs. Luckily we found out about it just in time to save her and a foster bought her home. A few weeks later, Delilah is looking much better, her hair loss and ear infections have been treated. Delilah is such a sweetie and has done well in her foster home. She sleeps on the bed with her foster mom, is housetrained and good with the dogs in the home.

MAGGIE KATE-ADOPTED is a beautiful family dog ready to find her forever home. She was a stray in downtown Atlanta before being picked up by animal control, but likely had a home at one point. Maggie Kate already knows sit & shake and may have some more training under her belt. She would thrive with many lifestyles, including a home with children as she did awesome with our volunteer's children and grandchildren. Maggie is a real gem with having a low key energy level, being excellent on leash, and not a jumper when we met her. HATTIE - ADOPTED is a sweet girl who was picked up as a stray with hair missing and a bad ear infection. Her only ticket out of the shelter was through rescue and one of our volunteers stepped right up to help nurse this sweet Angel back to health! Her fur is growing back nicely and Hattie is ready to find her real true love! Her foster parents say: She is extremely affectionate and a lap dog. Hattie would love nothing more than someone who will stay by her side and give her lots of cuddles and attention.

CAMILLA- ADOPTED is an adorable little chihuahua girl! Look how pretty she is! Camilla was a found as a stray in downtown Georgia and we are so glad nothing bad happened to her while she was fending for herself! She’s even started warming up to her for foster parents with little kisses and tail wags! Camilla is still learning how to confidently move around her foster home. She would love another calm, confident, and small dog in her forever home to help show her the ropes! Camilla is itty bitty and quite fragile, she would do best in an adult only home.

EDGAR AND EDIE- ADOPTED are two adorable little chi mixes! Though they appear to be siblings, they are not bonded so we are looking for them to be adopted separately. It would be good for them to have another playful dog in their new home. Their foster moms say they are beyond cute, tons of personality, plenty of energy and sweet as pie. ENRIQUE WIGGLELESIAS ADOPTED is one big ol’ fun loving pup!!! Our volunteers were tickled by his love for a squeaky ball.. so excited and confused! It was adorable but also quite sad to think he really hadn’t known the joy of toys in his short life! Now he is in a foster home he is making up for lost time and enjoying toys and bones! His foster mom says Enrique is such a lovebug. He always wants to be near you. He's going to make a great snuggler. He is such a good boy.

Elly's foster mom tells us: Elly is such a fun girl! She’s super wiggly and has a strong boxer look and demeanor. We LOVE LUCY! ADOPTED Lucy is the life of the party! This happy girl smiles with wiggling her whole body, (which is a little “chunky” at the moment). She also has amazing control over her ears, up/down/sideways! This girl is so sweet. She is smart and someone trained her well. She is a love. If she’s ever doing anything she shouldn’t be, like chasing a cat or a bird, the word no stops her in her tracks- such a soft spirit! She loves affection and lives with children and other animals in her foster home. She looks larger in pics than she actually is- lovely compact beauty! Definitely house broken and good on a leash. Slow to warm up to some people. Totally fine with kids and loves to snuggle.

CHULO ADOPTED Well apart from being absolutely adorable, this little guy is very sweet. In fact, when we checked in with his foster mom, she told us "Someone will be a lucky to adopt this little one. I could fall in love with this sweetheart very easily." Chulo is doing fine with the other dogs in the foster home, doesn't bark and seems to be housetrained. He would be perfect for someone that is looking for a companion.

Unfortunately, they couldn't be contacted and no one came to reclaim her and so Georgia found herself looking for a new home. Her foster mom tells us: Georgia loves everyone!

SKYE! ADOPTED This little lady was found wandering the streets of Atlanta all by her lonesome! She obviously strayed too far from home and couldn't find her way back. When she wasn't reclaimed, we decided she needed to be a PPR girl! Skye has been in boarding awaiting transport to NY. She presents as a tad shy which is to be expected after all the change she has been through recently! She gets on fine with other dogs, and once she feels comfortable even gets the zoomies while playing! She might present as a tad shy on first meeting, but bring treats and you will soon be best friends!

ISABELLA: ADOPTED This precious tiny (8 lb) pup was found wandering the streets of Atlanta. She was brought to Animal Control in hopes her person would come and find her there. After her stray hold was up and she wasn't reclaimed, we offered her a place in our rescue. We don't know much about her at the moment as obviously the shelter was a very scary place for one so little and poor Isabella was just terrified there. We do know she likes to be held and she was interested in meeting another small dog the staff introduced her too. Once she gets into a foster home this weekend, we will let her settle and find out more about what kind of home would suit her best. Because of her size, and all she has been through, we would think a quieter environment with no kids would be best. We think Isabella is a young adult, maybe around 3 yrs old and she weighs approximately 8 lbs.

Pretty SWEETIE ADOPTED certainly lives up to her name! We actually couldn’t have picked a better one for this soft hearted and gentle girl. She is mellow and sweet, and as you can see, has staggering looks! Those beautiful light blue eyes and a nice soft fur will draw you right to her. Sweetie unfortunately tested positive for heart worms. The staff and volunteers loved her so much that she was lucky enough to be taken home by a shelter volunteer to foster through her treatment. She is all done now and was returned to the shelter, but we thought this gem should be a PPR girl! She is a sweet, happy, friendly girl!

CAPTAIN ADOPTED was an instant YES when volunteers met him at the shelter. If there was ever a perfect dog… it just might be him. Such a gentleman on the leash and just happy as can be when meeting other doggy friends. Poor Captain drew the short straw when his owner decided he had too many dogs. He only sang praises for Captain when he gave him up. Captain is ready to set sail into his new life now! He is one happy go lucky, goofy guy!

RUSTY! ADOPTED What a handsome guy with his reddish color coat! It's easy to see how he got his name! Rusty is looking for a person or family to call his own after his previous family dropped him off at the shelter when they were moving. Rusty's foster mom tells us he gets along great with all her dogs, loves to snuggle (is a wannabe lap dog), sleeps quietly in his crate at night though he would be happy on your bed too! House and crate trained but needs a little more experience walking on a leash. THE APPLE PUPPIES are ready to find their new families! They are very well socialized having been born in a foster home and handled since birth. They are typical puppies, they play hard and then they sleep hard too! They have started on potty training and sleep well at night. This bright eyed and bushy tailed young chap is JARED LAYTO! ADOPTED Actually, he is bright eyed for sure, but he only has the shortest little nubby tail LOL! But that tail does its' job and wags like crazy just as if it was a bushy tail! Jared found himself picked up by the dog catcher as he was running loose. When no one came to claim him, we offered to find him a new family. Jared was scared at the shelter (which most little dogs are) and we know he will be so happy to get settled into a home environment again after all the stress of being a lost dog and then going to the pound. We think a quieter, less busy home would probably suit him best with no little kids. We will however update his bio once he gets into his foster home, and we know more about him.

PEANUT BONZ: ADOPTED Need an excuse to get off the couch? Well Peanut would love to join you! He walks great on a leash, and loves to explore the outdoors. This handsome lad was another pup that spent weeks at the shelter being overlooked. He is very sweet and loving and we know he would just soak up all the attention a family can give him. DANTE INFURNO ADOPTED is ready to be your new BFF! He is such a smiley little guy with the cutest shorty little legs! He is playful, loving, very affectionate and eager to please! His foster mom tells us: Who can resist this face?! Not me for sure. Dante is the cutest little guy. He plays well with my dogs, absolutely loves my grandchildren and really everyone he meets. He’s house trained and we are working on leash training. After he’s done playing he likes nothing better than a lap to sit on. IZZY ADOPTED is a sweet soul that stole our hearts and she will yours too! She has been in a foster home as unfortunately Izzy had to have an eye removed. It was severely ulcerated and causing her a lot of pain and discomfort. Her foster family love her and this is what they tell us about her! Izzy loves bananas! Actually there is not any food she does not like! She absolutely loves bones or anything she can chew on but does not chew things she should not. Learned sit right away. She sleeps on a doggy bed at night and is not an early riser. She would make a great walking companion. Did really well walking with one of my granddaughters. House trained and will come and find you if she has to go and then whine if you do not get right up. Plays a great game of fetch!

MARK & DONNIE WALKBERG ADOPTED are just the most adorable roly poly puppies! They came from a situation where a kindhearted citizen took in some stray dogs, but without spay/neuter, of course puppies were the result. They are both sweet and friendly and looking for a family that is ready for the responsibility of bringing home a puppy. Puppies are cute, but they require a lot of patience and time. Mark and Donnie have just started on potty training, are not fans of the leash right now, and think everything is theirs to play/chew! They have, however, mastered the art of giving puppy kisses!
If you are ready to bring a puppy into your family, we need to know your plans for training. Mark has the potential to grow into a large adult, his paws are pretty big and he already weighs in at a chunky 20 lbs! Donnie is smaller (15 lbs) but as we don't know exactly who the parents were, he might be on the bigger side too. We think the puppies are around 3 months old. She seemed so sad and having been at the shelter for 2 months she was getting depressed. Our volunteers took her out to the play yard and when she met another dog, she totally transformed into a happy, tail wagging, play bowing dog! Her foster family tells us she is settling in nicely! Loves to play, is good with dogs and their cat. She is going to make a great family dog!

JANE GOODBALL - ADOPTED! What a cutie! Her foster family tells us: Jane is the sweetest She runs like the wind even though she is a tripawd! (Jane had to have a leg amputated when she was brought to the shelter after being hit by a car) She is good with our dogs, seems to be on the submissive side, housetrained, and sleeps nicely in her crate overnight. This gorgeous girl is not one to fall all over new people and we must mention that Jane does present shy in new situations. What you see is not what you get with Jane on first meeting her. She needs someone patient who will give her time to settle. She is not going to cover you with kisses until she gets to know you, but once she feels comfortable you will see what a loving girl she is. Jane settled quickly in her foster home so we know she can do that again with her forever family and her foster mom will certainly help with lots of guidance. Treats are a great way to her heart!

JENNA FURSCHER ADOPTED found the shelter experience to be very scary like so many dogs. Jenna hasn't shown us much of her happy, smiley side yet but we are sure there's one in there. She's understandably confused due to the current circumstances. She was dropped off by her owner with Susan, which turned her world upside down. Our hearts just went out to this little girl who just didn't understand why she was there. She presented as very scared and shy so we will let her decompress in a foster home and update her bio once we know more about her. This sweet girl will need a patient owner while she warms up and another confident dog would be good too.

PATRICK PAWZE: ADOPTED Look at this handsome guy! He has a lovely wrinkly face! He is newly arrived in NY and his foster mom already tells us he is doing great. Gets along with dogs, loves all people big and small and doesn't mind the cold at all! No potty accidents so is probably well on his way to being able to say he is housetrained. He is young and has plenty of puppy energy so needs a family that is ready to continue his training. He is super smart and ready to learn some tricks too.
Patrick spent a month over the holidays stuck in a small kennel in the back of the shelter as there was no room in the adoption room to move him up. He was surrendered by his owner as they had too many animals.

Patrick spent a month over the holidays stuck in a small kennel in the back of the shelter as there was no room in the adoption room to move him up. He was surrendered by his owner as they had too many animals.

MEDUSA ADOPTED is a sweet and wiggly girl that unfortunately spent Christmas and New Year shut up in a kennel at Animal Control. She was picked up by the dog catcher running loose with Gemini.
Her foster family tells us: Medusa is just a doll. She absolutely loves people and has been great with our big dogs. She walks well on the leash and was so funny with her first couple of steps on the snow. She had a nice nap in her crate and is now keeping my teenage daughter warm with a good cuddle. Some lucky family is going to hit the jackpot with this one!

JERSEY GIRL ADOPTED This pretty young lady’s life almost ended at the shelter. Thankfully our GA volunteers were able to rescue her in time and she is now being pampered in a NY foster home. Her foster mom tells us that Jersey girl is sweetheart. Happy and playful, but also has a calmness about her. She is crate trained and loves riding in the car. She is getting better at leash walking every day and her house training is going great. She loves snuggling next to her people and is a loyal, fun companion. She has been great with all dogs and people that she has met.

This pretty girl is CHRISSY PETZ. ADOPTED She wasn't always so pretty as she came into the shelter with a lot of hair loss! Forward 2 months and she is now ready to find her new family. Her foster mom tells us: Chrissy is a happy go lucky puppy who is fine with strangers as well as other dogs, kids and cats. She is definitely interested in the cats but gives them space with a little warning. She will benefit from some puppy training but she seems super smart so I am sure she will catch on quick. She is a great snuggly buddy.

CRICKET! ADOPTED This adorable little guy is now available for adoption. He has spent a couple of weeks in his NY foster home giving him a chance to relax after his ordeal of finding himself at the scary GA Animal Control. Now we know more about him, we can find the perfect home for him! His foster mom says: Good with dogs and cats. Housetrained. Shy at first but warms up. Sweet. Likes his space sometimes and other times want to be in your lap.

MEADOW LANE: ADOPTED How can you resist this sweet, wrinkly face? Our volunteers couldn't! Meadow is a sweet older puppy that is very friendly and playful. She made lots of friends both human and canine at the shelter and has never met a stranger. Her foster mom tells us: Meadow is amazing! She is the happiest little girl and loves everything and everyone. Not sure about cats though as we don’t have any. She is super confident and fit in our home immediately.

RENEE ROLLWEGER! ADOPTED is a beautiful hound girl that would love to find her perfect family! She has a very gentle and calm demeanor and plays wonderfully with her tiny foster siblings. She truly loves all dogs and would love to have canine companions in her forever home to help her build confidence. She takes some time to come out of her shell but she’s worth the wait! Renee has the hardest time warming up to men, so any man in her life needs to be calm and patient with her. She walks great on a leash and is house/crate trained.
With her being so shy, we prefer no little/young kids at this time.

ADAM SITLER ADOPTED found himself surrendered to Animal Control when his owner decided he had no time to take care of him. Unfortunately we see that time and time again when people get a puppy and then after a while realize they don't want them anymore. It was sad that Adam had to spend the holidays stuck in a small cage at the shelter. He was scared like so many little dogs in that strange environment. Our volunteers met him when the shelter opened up again for the New Year and fell in love with his sweet face and radar ears. He may present initially as a little shy but soon warms up especially if treats are involved.

TAFFY! ADOPTED What is she made of? We just don’t know! She is a sweet and mellow puppy who loves snoozing in her warm cozy bed. Her foster mom tells us: Taffy is still looking for her forever family! She is a sweet goofball who is friendly and good with kids. She is housebroken and crate-trained. She is an older puppy and needs to continue with basic training including walking on a leash without pulling but she is generally low maintenance, medium energy level puppy. She is a great girl and will be an awesome family dog...we love her! . She has come out of her shell so much since arriving and her foster family thinks she is AMAZING!
