Victoria

Picture

When you see the photo of Victoria with my other dog Rocky, you will see why I wanted to adopt her.  She is a mini version of him and everyone thinks she is his puppy, though in fact she is a couple of years older and was pulled from animal control with her own puppy, Chelsea.  Rocky came from a shelter in Georgia too and so I think of them as my ambassadors for animal rescue -- when people stop to remark on such a beautiful pair of dogs, I take the opportunity to educate them about shelter dogs and now many of my friends and neighbors have adopted a rescue dog too!  Victoria is the sweetest dog, and I'm so happy she is part of our family now.

Gravy, now Harry

Picture

What a great puppy! We're loving him to pieces.  Here's a cute picture of him... when he was with us only a week, about 2 weeks, and about 5 weeks. Look how much he grew! He destroyed the basket the first time we had to leave him alone for only an hour or two, and made the mistake of putting the basket into his crate. He wasn't pleased with the whole idea! :) .

Nadia

Picture
How are you? I’ve been meaning to send you pics and an update. Nadia is doing really well. She has settled into life as a pampered pup. She gets never ending love from all of us and all of the kids in the neighborhood and from pretty much anyone she meets. She is really so lovable. She has become the unofficial mascot of my son’s soccer games. She goes to practices and games wearing one of his soccer shirts. It is really funny!
Her first few weeks were a little bit rough. She was definitely testing the water with my husband and me. She seems to like women better than men in general with the exception of my dad. She was quite snarly when it came to dropping things, getting her paws wiped, come and etc. But she is much, much better now. Overall, she is a great pet and we really love her. BTW- she absolutely adores going in the car. So much so, that if my car is in the driveway and not in the garage, she’ll pull to go in. She tries everything to get in the car. She spent time with my folks last weekend and she jumped through the open window and was just hanging out in the back seat in the garage.

Layla/ Bear

Picture
Sorry I haven't been in touch...Bear is doing awesome, everyone she comes in contact with falls in LOVE. We have been asked multiple times what kind of breed our dog is and where can we find one just like her. I have given your name out many times. My sister has been battling depression (hers is chemical). She asked me to find her a Boo Bear so I keep looking on your website
Just to let you know what kind of dog she is when Lisa(my sister) came home from the hospital Bear snuggled with her half the day in bed. Bear is staying at my sisters right now while me and the boys are in Texas (we are moving there) for a few days. At first I did not want to ask her for fear of overwhelming her, but she said she wanted to take care of her (Boo). I am in touch daily and Lisa has said she is a blessing sent from heaven. Her two sons argue daily over who is going to sleep with her. Lisa is taking care of Boo but Boo is helping my sister.
So that story being said I just wanted to THANK you again for doing what you do and to ask you if you come across any pups like Boo could you please give us a call.

Gwen/ Dixie

Picture
I know it has been over 6 months since we adopted our little girl.We came to Elizaville on February 20,2009 to adopt Gwen. My husband wanted to change her name and so Gwen is now "Dixie".Dixie is the greatest girl, smart as a whip and very loyal. She adores my husband who spoils her.Dixie goes everywhere with my husband---she loves to ride. She gets along with my French Bulldog--they play and are best buddies.Dixie wants for nothing---she has toys galore,Nylabones to chew and only the best Kibbles touches her lips--oh lest I forget her nightly treats. She has her own bed though she does let Fred lie on it but for night sleep she prefers her special fleece blanket on the couch !!! Everywhere we go she spreads her boundless energy and stellar personality--a true dream girl that we love with all our hearts.   Hope you enjoy the picture and we can never thank you enough for saving her life in Georgia and bringing her to New York--she is a true gem.

George/ Chief

Picture
Kevin & I just wanted to update you on George (now Chief). He is great! He
spends his days running, wrestling, playing, and snuggling with his little
brother, and bestest pal, Kingston. They have approximately 2 fenced acres to
play in - with a few woodsy areas and the rest lawn.  Kingston and he take turns
stealing each others' toys and burying them in the yard. They run around all day
trying to find the other one's treasure!
He is the sweests little guy, and he is truly coming out of his shell. He even
barks now! It is a deep, throaty bark, and it makes us so happy everytime we
hear it! He barks at animals - deer, rabbits, birds, and if a stranger comes
in the yard, but it is never menacing. He sleeps with us every night - and one of us usually wakes up with him sharing our pillow. He is begining to explore the house - instead of being on his bed or the sofa when he is inside. And he fits in great with the cats - Mischa gives
him facials on a regular basis.
We can't thank you enough for rescuing him and holding him until we found him. He
has brought so much joy into our lives; we love him so.

Macon/ Luke

Picture
Happy Holidays! I wanted to give you an update on Luke (AKA Macon), since it has been one year since we have adopted him.
He has grown! He now weighs 60 pounds!!!! It is a joy to be his Momma! He is a quick learner and knows many tricks, such as sit, speak, shake, beg, lay down and hi five! My favorite is that I have taught him to say Momma!! :) He loves playing with toys. His favorite are balls, ropes and his beloved "duck-duck" (which we have had to replace on more than one occasion).
He is a people loving dog! He wants to meet everyone and see everyone that comes over. He has a personality that just shines.
We love him very much and we are very thankful to you all for giving us the opportunity to have such a wonderful "puppy-boy" in our lives!!

Velvet/ Katie

Picture
My husband and I adopted Katie (formerly Velvet) from Perfect Pets on February 7, 2009, and I want to thank you for bringing this wonderful dog into our lives. She is such a good-natured, affectionate dog and is a joy to us every day. After being an "only dog" for two and a half years, our rat terrier mix, June Bug, was not exactly thrilled to have another dog in the house. But after a rough first few weeks, Katie won over even grouchy June Bug. They are now best buddies and love to play tug of war (usually, with a sock that Katie has stolen from the laundry) and chase each other around our yard. I even occasionally catch them sleeping together in the same dog bed!

Rhett/ Jake

Picture
Jake (formerly Rhett) joined our family on March 27, 2009.  It's hard to believe it's been almost a year.  At first he was afraid of alot of things but it didn't take him long to become the king of the house!  He is a great guy, very smart, very funny and very energetic!  As you can see by this photo, his toys! Life before Jake was too quiet and boring.  Thank you so much for introducing us to him.

Ursa and Ursula/ Isis and Isabelle

Picture
We just wanted to send a note on how Isis and Isabelle (Ursa & Ursula) the siamese sisters that we adopted from Pet Rescue are doing.  They are so full of life and mischief.  They have opposite personalaities to match our two daughters.  We all love then so much.  Isis (with the white spot on her nose) sleeps with Mommy & Daddy everynight and Isabelle takes turns sleeping in her sisters rooms.  They are so playful and loveable.  Thank you - Isis and Isabelle were exactly what our family needed.

Mochachino/ Brady

Picture
We have a happy tail for your website.  We adopted Mochachino at the beginning of June 2009 and renamed him Brady.  He loves sleeping on his mom and dad's bed and playing with his many chew toys.  He has play dates with lots of dogs in his neighborhood and always comes running to the door when we get home.  We are so lucky to have him. Thank you so much for Brady and for all that you do to help so many animals.

Boomer

Picture
Back in March 2009, Donna & I adopted Boomer. (We loved the name, so we kept it.) We just wanted to let you know that we couldn't have found a better puppy to be a part of our family. Boomer is happy, healthy, and full of love. He has brought so much joy into our household. And no matter how old or how big he gets, he will always be just a loveable little puppy to me! Thank you so much for all the good work you do... Happy Holidays from Boomer & his family (Donna, Jay, & Zoey the Cat).

Tulow/ Butters

Picture
Hi Allie and Perfect Pets Rescue.  I'm attaching a picture of Butters, who when we got from you was named Tulow.  He is doing great up in Albany!! We are so thankful to have found him!!

Butterfinger/ Foley (on the right)

Picture
We just wanted to thank you for letting us adopt the cutest puppy in the world!  Foley is loving his new home and big brother Scout.  When we got him he fit in the palms of our hands, now he's almost as big as his brother!  He loves to give kisses and insists that he is a lap dog.  Here he is on the right with his big brother Scout and daddy.

Lassie/ Minnie (on the right)

Picture
Attached is a picture of Minnie (formerly Lassie) who we adopted from PPR in November '08.  Minnie is on the right and next to her is her pal, Baxter.  She is doing very well!  She is 100% housetrained and knows all of her basic commands. She loves Baxter and he doesn't seem to mind when she beats him up.  All Minnie wants to do is to be loved!  She loves to just climb up on your lap and hang out (her favorite show is The Dog Whisperer) - even though she is a little too big to be a lap dog!   Thank you for all the work you do.  We are grateful to have found such a wonderful rescue!

Peanut

Picture
My family adopted Peanut, a yorkshire terrier, back in February this year. He was so thin you could see each of his ribs. We brought him home, filled him out, and love him so much! His "sister" Cookie (a cocker spaniel) absolutely loves him and stays outside in our fenced-in yard with him for hours on end, sunning and sniffing the breeze. He points and sneaks up on birds in our yard -- a technique he learned from Cookie, I'm sure. His "brother" Hershey (a toy poodle) didn't really like the idea of a new male in the house, but has come to like the new playmate. Peanut is so friendly and trusting, which is pleasantly surprising. He still doesn't want his food touched or any of his raw hides taken away, but we don't blame the poor little guy after being starved. Thank you so much for providing this service. I can't imagine Peanut anywhere else!

Duffy/ McDuff

Picture
Hello Perfect Pets! Thank you sooooo much for bringing this wonderful little guy into our home. He is an unbelievable adorable and pretty well behaved little pup. Totally potty trained already, just working on his teething. He has already grown so much, and loves to play with all of his toys. He’s already the king of the home, and is working on getting his sister cat to try and play with him. We couldn’t possibly love him anymore than we do. Thanks again!!!!

Shamrock/Charlie

Picture
Shamrock- now Charlie is a wonderful addition to our family. We cannot believe that somebody would have given him up. He loves the kids and plays frisbee, goes camping with us and enjoys trips a lot. He is even going to be in a book that comes out this fall! Thanks so much for bringing him to us.

Stoli/ Riley

Picture
We adopted Riley (originally Stoli) at the end of June, and we still can't get enough of her! She and our other dog Molly have become best friends, and spend every possible moment together. Riley has also joined us on two vacations already, and she just loves driving in the car. We can't thank you enough for saving her!!!

Steve

Picture
We are really enjoying Steve.  He’s a neat guy and learns very fast.  He already knows sit, lay down, and he learned “no” right away (LOL!).  He loves to play tug-o-war with Sandie, and sometimes she even lets him win.  He’s going to be a breeze to potty train as soon as he can “hold it”.

Chiquita/Quita

Picture
Thank you from the very bottom our hearts for saving Quita! - love, her mother Ali, her father Dan, sister Belly, brother Mookie, bestfriend Blue, and cousin Sachie. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luna Moona

Picture
Luna Moona is one of our miracle dogs. She was rescued in a last minute rescue effort and was in pretty rough shape. Luna had to be at a vet for five weeks before we were finally able to send her to NY. As you can see, she is a very much loved puppy now and she has children to play with every day.

Elie

Elie is doing well.  He has put on a little weight and he is settling in well.  He loves his new "forever" home.  He is so energetic, loves to run.  Gets along with everyone and even tolerates the cat most of time.  Loves riding in the car and is a "pig ear junkie" so he gets one everyday.

Winston

Winston was adopted by a great family who took him to a Valentine's day photo shoot :) Winston loves his new family and is a really happy dog these days.

Angus

Angus has our hearts for sure. His "big" sister also fell in love with him. She is teaching him all that she knows about playing and getting the most out of a human. His cat brother and sister are doing their best to teach him about cats. He is doing well with his training(all sorts). He is growing like a weed! and yes, we are spoiling him....

Mindy & Shai

Mindy and Shai were adopted one month apart by the same family. These sisters are too cute, and were part of the first litter born at our rescue. Both girls are doing great. We are glad they are going to spend their life together.

Gracie

Hi PPR,
I wanted to let you know that little Gracie is doing fine and has stollen our hearts!  She has adjusted well to her daily walks and loves her visits to the dog park to run and play with all her new friends.  But best of all, her and our Golden, Sammi-Jo, have become the best of friends despite the 6 year difference in age.  Thank you so much for all your help, this truly was a match made in heaven!

Baxter (front)

Our Baxter was adopted in December and had a bad respiratory infection. He  recovered from it thanks to his family's efforts to get him better. Now, he enjoys a great life with his friend Jessie. He has lots of energy, loves to play and run. We are so glad Baxter has found such a wonderful new home!

Rocky/Harley

We adopted Harley at the end of September when he was only about 10 weeks old. He is the smartest, most affectionate dog in the world! We are very lucky to have found him. He loves taking trips in our camper and quickly becomes the hit of the campground. Whoever fostered him did a wonderful job and we would like to thank them. Training him was a snap. Here he is unwrapping all of his Christmas presents. He is just so cute, we love to spoil him!

Arie/Cody

We are having so much fun with him. The kids just love him and he gets so much attention.....as you can see by the picture. He is the perfect dog for our family. He absolutely loves people, especially the kids and showers them with kisses constantly.  We are so happy to have him as part of our family!!!

Lady/Aggie

"Just thought you would like to know how Aggie (formerly known as Lady) is doing.  She is the greatest dog and both Ammi and I love her very much!  I take her on an hour long walk every morning and after that she loves to chew on her toys or sleep all day.  Her favorite activities are running ( and she can run very fast!),sniffing, trying to chase deer and squirrells and eating.  She is very good at all of them.  I try to give her as much exercise as I can as she just loves being outside and running.  We take her on hikes or over to the field and let her run and she's a very good girl and stays right by my side and always comes when called.  She looks so funning running so fast with such short legs!  She loves playing with other dogs and loves all people.  She also loves to eat and loves her treats and will do just about anything for any kind of food.  She's is a very fast learner and is house trained and knows some new tricks.  She has only gained about a pound since we got her so I think she is pretty much done growing.  Everybody adores her and thinks she is the cutest dog they've ever seen (because she is!)."

Beauty (middle)

Beauty was scared when she came to us. She must have had a very rough life before she was rescued. We love to hear about her now...she is happy and loves her big brother... She deserved a great life and she got it!!!! YAY Beauty!

Dexter/Sammy

Well, we almost don't need to comment on this picture.... Happy Holidays Sammy (and family!!!)

Kahlua/Thia

Kahlua's name was chenged and so has she! Being a shy dog in the beginning she blossomed in her new family's house. She is very much loved, adored and cared for. Thia is a happy dog and so are we (for her)!

Chewy

Chewy finally found the perfect family for him. His new family adores him, and he plenty of space to roam around and hang out with his K9 brothers and sisters. We are so glad that Chewy "fell in the soup"! :)

Niles/Thurber

Niles loves his new home/mom! He won't leave her side and is a super happy boy. His mom says: "Thurber is the most special, happy creature. We are all madly in love and I think he is really doing well."

Radar

His new mom calls him "her miracle baby" because little Radar saved her from a couple of Yellow Jackets by pointing them out to her. He is smart and enjoys his new life with his siblings and his great new family.

Moxie/Katie

Our little Moxie is finally home, her new families adores her. She has two siblings that love to play and cuddle with her. Moxie us one of our miracle pups that made it through a often deadly Parvo infection. We hope she will enjoy her life with her new family!

Paco/Bentley

This little guy went home with a wonderful lady who spoils him rotten. He sleeps in her bed every night like a self respecting Chi does! We are so happy Paco/Bentley found a true forever home!

Yoni

Our Yoni went home after a very long stay in GA :) He lives with a wonderful, caring family. He has a new "sister" that looks just like him. His new family already confirmed that it feels like Yoni has been part of their family for a long time.

Maggie

Maggie's new family already sent us a couple of lines, telling us how loveable she is. We knew that nobody could resist this little girl with the short legs and impeccable behavior.

Drogo/Linus

Drogo has a new name and sister (as you can see in this picture). Linus's new dad takes him to work every single day and prepares him for the long hikes he will take. We know that Linus will have a fun-filled, exciting life.

Sadie

Sadie went from HW+ doomed dog to jackpot winner. She went home with a family that will love her for the rest of her days. She has kids to play with and we are so happy for her! Have a great life Sadie!

Terry/Sweet Pea

Terry was adopted by a wonderful lady who goes on long walks with her every day. We are convinced she also enjoys Terry's other specialty: Foot warmer :)

Romeo

We said that Romeo was a lover, and we were right. He convinced his foster mom and foster sister Alex that he needed to be part of their family. Looking at those eyes, who could say "no"! We heard that Romeo enjoys boat rides these days! Ahoi Romeo :)

Eddie

Eddie had many people looking to adopt him, but we thought he would have a blast with his three new Wiener Dog friends. Eddie loves his new home and his new friends!

McDuff/Odie

McDuff's new name is Odie :) He came to us as a tiny puppy with horrible diarrhea and kennel cough. The vet didn't think he would make it, but Odie thought different. He was an owner surrender at a very rural GA shelter. We can show picture proof that his pre-owners were very wrong when they labeled him "bad with kids"....

Queenie

Queenie has found a wonderful home. Her new family keeps her busy with agility and long walks. We are very happy to have found such a great match for our royal girl!

Mabel

Archie's sister Mabel was rescued from a very high-kill shelter in the metro Atlanta area. She has found a great home in NY.

TT

T.T. (short for Terrible Terrier, Terrier Tornado, Terrific Terrier, Terrier Tantrum, etc.) came up with her brother and was so ill she needed emergency vet care. After going to Walmart at 12:30am to pick up a rectal thermometer and alcohol pads for her fever (got some strange looks!), her foster mom couldn't bear to part with her. T.T., being rather intelligent, buttered up foster dad and will be staying forever.

Humphrey

Humphrey spent two weeks at Animal Control without being noticed. He requested a transfer up North and was adopted in a heartbeat!

Candace

She was one of our first lucky GA pups to find her way up North. Her transporter loved her so much that she was adopted by him right away :)

Mickey

Mickey was a last-minute emergency rescue. When he arrived in NY, it took him astonishing 30 minutes to get adopted. He is the sweetest short legged guy walking around :)
